Called ID reads - PRIVATE NAME

The pause was so long that I knew I was being cycled through to the next poor schlep tied to his cubicle. As soon as I heard the melody of telemarketing background chatter I hung up.

Rachel called our business and said she needed to talk with the owner about a financial matter. When I asked what it was regarding, she said Visa and MasterCard acceptance. I said, "We aren't looking to do this, can you take us off your call list, please?" She instantly said, "No we will not." And hung up. I called back 2 times. There was no answer and no voice mail and eventually it disconnected.
Rachel misrepresented herself to try to get "the business owner". Then she was rude. I believe you are required to take businesses off a call list if we request it.
I called back to learn the name of the company and her supervisor and report what happened and ask to be taken off the list. Now I have a warning label in place of a name identifying never to accept a call from this number.

Actually no, they are not required to remove you from their calling list if the calls are B2B (business to business). DNC laws apply to  B2C (Business to consumers) calls only. I could put you on an auto-dialer and bombard you with calls all day long if I wanted to (not that I would, just making a point). Unless they are making threatening or harassing statements, they can call you as much as they want.

Same issue with Realtors and home solicitation laws. When I was a Realtor, I could knock on someones door to sell their house, they tell me to never comeback and I would show up the next day or week.

These laws were created to protect people from scammers and harassment, not to make your life more convenient.

Misrepresentation? Credit card processing is a financial matter and you don't make the decisions for the business (simply because you have the time to call them back multiple times), so she needed to speak to the decision maker. Just because you collect a paycheck every week does not mean you have to down people that get paid based on performance.

    Hope this helps!
