I just recieved a call from this number. A man by the name of Josh Flager said that I have been selected to recieve a goverenment grant in the amount of $5,000. He asked for my address and and continued to on to explain that he needed my checking account number because they have to do it by direct deposit. He also said that a goverenment offical would come to by my house to verify my SSN! Please respond if this has happened to anyone else!!

I just recvd the same call but my persons name was Michael...this has to be some kind of SCAM...He called my cell phone and left me a message it came up private and left this number to call back @..my number is on the national do not call list too

i wish this was real i could use the money ans now i don't know but i would really be nice if it was.

I have experienced the same call.  This has got to be a scam.  Keep your eyes open people.

A guy named "Eric" with a heavy hispanic accent, called from a blocked number, left a message about a $5000 government grant.  Then called back 10 minutes later, when I answered, he asked for me by first name and proceeded with a rehearsed message about some grant.  When I said I had not applied for any grant, he hung up.  10 minutes later he called again asking for my wife by first name. I told him we were on the do not call list for solicitation and questioned him about the origin of the "grant" and said I would call if we were interested.  This was a new scam! In tough economic times I hate to think of how many will be suckered in to giving out personal information.

I just received a phone call from this number from a guy with a very heavy accent.  So heavy in fact, that it was difficult to understand the message other than he is calling with the government and I have been selected to receive $5,000.

I got a the same call but it was a guy named Eric. Somehow I have won a $5,ooo grant to use however I need. The guy talks real fast and wants a routing number for the dposit. When he said they had to have a security deposit of $149.00 that was when I ended the call.

I just recieved  a message this morning from a man named Richter, he said,he was from the government grant department and I was selected from the goverment department to recieve $5,000 grant and to call him back, he also used my first name.

I just got the same call!! it has to be a scam. the same thing, the accent, 5,000 dollars and the same 149.00 deposit. i called my bank and informed them. THIS HAS TO BE A SCAM!!! I was fooled for a moment

A man called me with a heavy accent and said i was selected to recieve a 5,000 dollar government check. He asked me for all my personel info and i gave it to him. when he told me about a 149 dollar deposit i knew something was up. He alredy knew my name and address. Beware!!!! Call the police

we just recieved a call from this same number name Randy Wilson sayin i will recieve $ 5,000 as a gov. grant , and i need to have $149.95 n the bank for them to wire the money to me.
Please do not listen i was jacked $400.00 already please do not give info i gave my checkn # along wid my routing # freaking jacker!!!!!

This is a scam group and should be sent to the NYC PD/FBI. They are posing as the US Government advising that you have been issued a $5000.00 grant.  They ask for you info. i.e., name, address, chk info., visa card info. etc.  The address given was 712 Crown Street, New York NY, 11213.  The phone number given was 516-874-5007 ask for Eric and Richard.  Beware!

I just got the same call on my voice mail. It was obviously a scam. Thick foreign accent claiming to represent the "Government Grant Department." I game him a bunch of fake info about me (birthday, April 1) and then he asked for my bank account number so he could wire the $5000 grant. I told him I didn't have any bank accounts, but he kept asking for a bank account number, over and over again. Finally I tired of the little game and told him that I was pulling an April Fools joke on him, and that he had been get out of where ever it was he was calling from because I was going to call the police to come pick him up.

sounds like they are using a spoof number, because 516 area code is nassau county long island, but 712 crown street is in brooklyn new york, and would be the 718 area code, I saw a recent ny1 news story on spoof numbers where the spoofer can make the number appear different than what it really is, and it even fools caller id, showing a totally different number.

Called my cell phone, came up on id as 1025, saying i got a federal grant of 5,000. Smelled funny to me especially when they wouldn't tell me what department or the name of the grant program. She transferred me to someone else both with heavy accents and he said that because they wanted to be sure it went to the right person they needed my account info. FYI any and all grants loans and scholarships from the government go to the school you are attending and is then disbursed to you.

I just recived a call from a person "Ruth Johnson" with a middle eastern acsent claming that I won a $5000 gov. grant. she rambled off a bunch of numbers for a card claim number and a call back number. She had my first and last name as well as my home address. This is a scam!!! beware...its a bunch of BS.

I also just received a weird phone call to my cell phone. They indicated they were from the US Government Grant program and that theyd be giving me a a grant of 5,000. The person that called me was supposedly named Mike Smith but had an EXTREMELY thick indian acsent. He gave me his "badge" id num M3132 and asked me to verify my name, address and birthdate in which he already had. His number however was from Washington DC.? It sounds and smells like a scame so beware people the number was 202-657-4515
