Caller ID "V401……time stamp" ... APR 1@6:59pm EDT… I do not answer calls I don't know. They did not leave a message.

First call from this number. No message.

CID showed "Out of area."

They just called here and left no message.

They just called here.  Was someone trying to solicit for a Police fund of some kind.  No thank you!

Just got the call about a Police benefit...a supposed kit will be coming in the mail, but they need to know a minimum $$ commitment before they send the kit....SCAM

They are representing them selves in a manner which appears to be for a Police Conference that contributes to the families of fallen members of service.  This is a total SCAM do not contribute to these con artists.

This is asking for a donation for a police conference. I remember this SCAM a few years ago. They usually call in the evening when I am sitting to eat dinner.

As above-- asked for a donation for a police conference "for fallen members" (doesn't make sense to me, right there--- no offense meant, but, "fallen members" at a conference???). When I told the caller that, to my understanding, the police do not make outgoing calls asking for donations, he hung up on me. I was told by NYS troopers, as well as police from my local municipality, that they do not cold call people to ask for donations.  I may be wrong, but, if the call from this number was on the up-and-up, they certainly could have, and would have, explained that they ARE allowed to do so, if this was the case.

The calls for this, police funds of various names, as well as breast cancer, children's cancer , etc are made by a company that "represents" the aforementioned charities.  I looked into one of the charities I made the mistake of saying yes to.   It is a total scam. Any donated monies go to the salary of the executives of the charity.  I did not fulfill my pledge after I did my research.  I have received phone calls from several charities as they have my home number. All of the charities are fronted by the same firm.

If you do make the mistake of answering the call be warned that they have a very nice phone manner.  Do not be taken in.  Professional con artists they are.

Call your Congress person and tell them that they need to put some teeth in the Do Not Call law with stiff fines! This is getting out of hand!

I get at least 1 call per day from 516-986-0747 on my cell phone.  I never answer and they never leave a voice mail.  

Ditto. Just got a call on my cellphone (8:22 p.m.). I didn't answer, and they left no message. Not a reputable way to do business.

just got a call they wanted a  donation to help the police supposedly they send a kit through mail , they said alot of ppl receive the kit and dont send money so in order to save $$ on sending kits they said they take CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS I was like... I dont have enough on my account ill just wait for my kit thank you bye.

The PBA does not solicit money over the money...it never has...and it still does not...this is caller is not associated with law enforcement at all......the best way to stop them from calling is to ask for their address...

Just got a call but if I don't know the number, I do not answer. Thanks for all of you who did answer and took the time to post. This number is now blocked from my cell.
