Received a call from 517-325-9637, (msg on answering machine) stating they were from the IRS and that a law suit had been filed against either my wife's ssn or mine.  (did not state which)  If we did not respond immediately things could get real bad for us.  We were not to delay and let this happen.   Strongly suspect this is a con job.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.

Received message supposedly from IRS as well.  My sister lives with me and did not state which of us was involved in a law suit.  Sounds scammy to me.  Beware.

Yep I just got this message.  A man with an accent left me a message.  He did not leave his name.  My guess its a scam.

I got the call this morning same thing, although my guy had an Irish accent.

I just got this call, but had been made aware by the fact that my 86 year old mother had received it yesterday.  While I understand it to be a scam, she was very worried that there was a potential lawsuit against her.  I have reassured her and she knows never to answer the phone if she does not know the caller.  And to NEVER give out any information on a phone call she has received.

Got the same call on my cell in Mississippi!  Called back ... OF COURSE, no response.  Knew it was a scam when I called back; just wanted to tell them to kiss my ass!!  :-)

I've also gotten this call as well. Considering the government's  affinity for documenting things, I'm sure if this were truly the case, letters, not obscure phone calls from places that won't answer return calls, would be their preferred method of communication. But kuddos to these guys for making my heart skip a terrible beat. No fair playing on people's financial parinoia.

Do return the call. The folder(?) situation gets worse. Thank you."

I'm desperately trying to get them on the phone so I can waste their time ... but they're so bad at this that their line is alway busy.  My favorite phrase from the phone message:  "State County Court".

Yep, just received the exact same message verbatim complete with the accent and some mispronounced words asking me to immediately call 517 325-9637.  I called the number for fun and got a busy signal.  What a bunch or morons.  Thanks for posting this everyone.

I just received the same call at 8:30 a.m. from Michigan.  the caller left a message stating that we are being investigated for tax evasion and to call the number before the situation is filed in county court and gets much worse! He did not state who he was calling , but said the claim was against our social security number.  The caller has a foreign accent.  Sounds fishy.  Thanks for all the input!

I received the same VM on my house line in CT.  The exact phone number 517-325-9637 as stated above.  The man had a british accent and said that I was going to have legal action taken against me for tax evasion.  I too tried to call the number back in order to speak my mind regarding their call.  Although was unable to have that opportunity because I only got a busy signal.

I received the same voice mail, it was a recording. Voice sounds foreign. Definitely shady, I'm not calling back.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
