From what I could understand when I picked up, I heard the word veteran something mentioned. I hung up though.

I received a call from this # .. 517-679-0758. no message left. I had applied for a job recently and since then been bombarded with solicitation calls. I don't even know where the area code 517 originates but is not even located in my state. I did NOT apply for any position out of state. (besides I'm on a no call list)

Both my husband and I got this call at the same time on our cell phones.  As far as I know the 517 area code is on the West side of the state of Michigan.  Unless they have changed their area code.

I got this call when I was at work and I didn't pick up. They left no message.

This same # just called me too on 4/16/10 @ 12 pm. I didn't answer and they didn't leave me a message.

This number just called me as well. I picked up and they immediately hung up.

This number also called me just now and hung up as soon as I answered.

Reveived a call from 517-679-0758 and when i picked up it hung up.

Called the number back - it's an automated message that is on behalf of charitable donation groups.  The message reminds you that calls about donations and politics are exempt from the "Do not call" group

I got a call from this number two days ago (on my CELL phone).  When I answered, they said that they were from a veteran's organization, and wanted to know if they could count on my financial donation if they mailed a donation card to me.  When I said that they could mail the card but that I couldn't immediately commit to a donation, they abruptly hung up.  Not exacly a considerate way to treat a possible supporter!

My wife just got a call on her CELL phone from 517-679-0755.  We didn't answer.

We both live in Michigan and have Verizon cell service.

Have gotten two calls this week. Didn't answer either one. It appears to be in Lansing, Michigan.

Received 2 calls 4/17/2010 Saturday on my cell phone each time they hang up. Lansing area hard line. I do not know why they keep calling.

I have gotten about 12 of these calls in the past month.  The company is called Insite and they make calls requesting money for charities.  Charities are exempt from the do not call list.  What SUCKS about this firm is that they call for numerous charities.  So you can request to be removed from the cancer charity but the St Judes hopital one can call you from that same number.  The reason you get a dead line when you pick up the phone is that some poor sap answered before you.  They make multiple calls at once and who ever picks up first is the poor sap that gets the plea for money first.  Your number goes back into the system to be called another day.

Just thought you might want to know.

It's got to be a new scam service. The call originates from Lansing, MI. They don't discriminate cell services, as I'm on T-Mobile. Don't answer, you should be able to put a block on it. (4/19/10, 6:19 pm)

Not sure if it is a scam, but they are trying to get money for the Vetrans fundraisiing. I asked for information to be sent to my house, and they said they can't do that because if they send it out and I don't send them money then they loose out. WOW!! you lost a whole 10 cents on the information you sent to me. I just told them i was not interested. If they cant provide me information then I can't provide a credit card.

Got a call on this number today (04-20-10) on my verizon cell.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Got a call today -4/20/2010. Heard people laughing hysterically for a second then they hung up. Nice wasted minute. While the do not call list may not apply to charitable organizations the rule about telemarketing to cell phones still might.
Shut 'em down please.
