inquiring about deceased's estate

I got a random call from this number, At which point a computer asked me to "remain on the line for an important message."  It then said "please hold for a representative"  

I immediately hung up the call. (what kind of legitimate company calls you and then makes you wait)  Probably a scam of some sort.

this number (517-886-5500) called my home yesterday, it was a person who called me ,they clamed they were a debt collector. all they said was my name and that they were a debt collector and then gave me this number. when i called this number all it did was ring and ring. i know for a fact they cant be debt collectors, i dont have any debt.

I've been dealing with them for a while now. For the most part they are a decent company. Better than most I've dealt with. If I needed to miss a monthly payment, they usually will let me.

Anyway........

received call stating they are a debt collector Money Recovery Nationwide.  Did the whole speil of "by staying on the line you acknowledge you are...." only a real person saying it.  Told callback # of (517)541-1370 Ext. 1 and speak to "Mary".   I have no debt, but I recently found that my exwife (divorced 15 yrs ago) has been using my info. I haven't called back, but I don't doubt the legitimacy of this number.  It is in the Lansing, MI area.

this girl called sayin her name was molly, she was ackting like a friend that was tryin to get ahold of me. when i said i wasent home, she asked where i was workin and what my address was cuz she wanted to write me a letter!!!! wow these people are getting tricky!

No one wants this person calling anymore... that's the point of posting the messages here.

They keep calling phone number they better get facts first before calling anybody about collection...my husband was in a car accident the other persons insurance company to pay all bills my attorney has been contacted regarding there calling...we will sue them for harassmeny especially was accident wasn't his fault

yup jst got a call from them, they said is this brandon and i said yes and he said ok let me transfer your call and put me on hold, i hung up of course..Probably should'ev said it was the wrong number!!!

I got a call from them today. I just ignored it and they did not leave a message. I will keep these postings in mind if the number appears again. Are they usually pretty persistent or is it a one time deal? does anyone know?Thanks

Another call from this number, again they left no message.  This is about the fourth or fifth time, really sick of these sorts of calls.  I don't have any delinquent debt, so no debt collector should be calling me.  I think this is just an agressive telemarketer of some sort.

caller doesn't leave a message... When you call the number back you get a recorded phone message before a human being picks up.  MONEY RECOVERY NATIONWIDE -- karen miller  ( if that is the real name ) asks you to identify yourself to them. If they are calling you they should know who you are. What they do not tell you is THEY ARE RECORDING THE CONVERSATIONS. If you tell them you're recording then they will admit to recording the conversations.Without identifying yourself, they tell you to"hold on while they transfer your call to the person that called you". With your caller ID blocked outgoing call to them, they are able to see number you are calling from, or so they claim to know.

Home (517) 541-1370  an that was RUDE of the previous poster to give out her phone number an relate it to the collection agency.

Molly has called me 6 times today! 6! I do have legitimate medical bills that I am currently working with a debt consolidation firm to pay back. She told me that they refuse to work with them because the payments aren't enough. When I told her that there was nothing more I could do, that I have other bills, she mocked me and said "looks like that debt consolidation firm is doing wonders for you." She point blank told me that I will be sued by them if I didn't make payment arrangements with her right then. I told her that the form of payment through my deb consolidator had been recieved and the check was cashed, she told me they never recieved anything. I told her if they chose to seek legal action, I could prove that payment arrangements have been made since 5-5-13 and payment has been set out and they wouldn't have a case. She then snickered and said "there's no laws for that, and we will win". I contacted my attorney and he told me it sounded like a scam. I felt like this woman stripped me of all my dignity.

It is a Debt collection company. they have called my house well over 20 times about a debt that my deceased uncle supposedly owes. I have informed them multiple times that he died over 2 years ago and his estate has already been settled. One of there reps tried to say that as a relative i now owed the debt.....lol

Glad you didn't give them anything - legally, you are NOT responsible for your late uncle's debt.  If they keep calling, you may have to send them a cease and desist letter via certified mail/return receipt and signature requested.  That way you put them on notice that they will be hearing from your attorney for damages if they keep pestering you.
