I just got the same call - no message.

Who is Michigan FOP?

Tried answering call but nothing there.  FOP is Fraternal Order of Police but this is not their number!

We got also a call from this number. They did not let any message.

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.mifop.com. Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for Michigan police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

Do not answer this number or any number with VFW or FOP.  The Veteran of Foreign Wars do not solicite money over the phone.  The Faternal order of Police is the Largest Police Union in America and do not solicite money over the phone.  They dont need money because the Union gets more than 620.00 per officer as dues.  They have over one-million officers in there ranks.  That also goes for POAM any police agency that solicites for money is a scam.  The only soliciting that the police dept puts on are The Goodfellow and toys for tots like the Marine corps.  Then they dont call you but stand on corners asking for money.  So if you get a call from any of the above agencies more than likely its a Scam.  They are trying to get your bank information/credit card information.  Me I belong to the POAM Police Officers Association of Michigan and I know Police do not solicit over the phone.

A Florida man has been charged with mail fraud and wire fraud in connection with a so-called telephone cramming scheme, which was designed to place charges on consumers’ telephone bills for collect calls that were not made.

According to the indictment, from April 2003 to December 2005, Willoughby Farr, 46, of West Palm Beach, Florida, used three West Palm Beach companies – Nationwide Connections Inc., Access One Communications Inc. and Connect One Communications Inc.–   to defraud consumers.

Through these companies, Farr, who was in jail during the time of the phone cramming scheme, allegedly arranged for local telephone companies to falsely bill consumers for collect calls.

Because the charges typically appeared on the last page of consumers’ telephone bills, many paid the charges. The indictment charges Farr with six counts of mail fraud and two counts of wire fraud. Each count carries a maximum statutory term of 20 years in prison, a possible fine and restitution.

Since I updated my do not call list, I am getting inundated with calls that I do not want. I will not answer these calls but it is getting annoying. I

Received a call from this number 517-933-2074 as with some other numbers. Jerks don't leave a message because they know they are trying to scam people. Everyone please be aware of these butt holes out here. With the economy the way it is jerks will prey on anyone they think is vulnerable.

Received a call from this number - caller ID stated it is a call from Coldwater MI.

Caller ID said Effex Inc.

I received a call from this number with ID of Michigan FOP. They did not leave a message. Sounds like a scam to me.

Yes, the calls come from the Michigan FOP & Yes they DO solicit over the phone.

I receive weekly calls from them and i am actually quite annoyed.  Even though i have told their callers that i would not be donating, they continue to call incessantly.

Personally, i would never donate or give bank information to any organization that contacts me without me being the one to initiate the dialogue.  Although they may not be a scam, the FOP would probably be better served if they found another way to get their message out and stop cold calling people.

I receive calls from this outfit nearly every day and some days they call several times and I am pissed. If I knew where to find these [***], no one would be bothered by them again!

As usual, the f-ing government seems powerless as the congressmen and women are far too busy getting rich on we taxpayers sweat to take the necessary action to end these types of bothersome calls.

It is long past time for us to throw everyone out of Washington and the state capitals and start over!

They will keep calling but we can do something about it and we are. Just like you we have had enough of these con men and I mean all of them, at this point I dont care if they are legal or not, it is to hard for the average guy to tell the difference and he should not have to esp when its a donation to the police fire vets or kids. Its ridiculous.

Must have stopped using this phone on June 8th. Hmmm, have to made a not to check back in a week to see if you have resumed using it. This is fun. By the time its all said and done, we are all going to be on a first name basis.

BTW, FOP, you would not believe how many of your sales reps read these boards. my inbox tips (at) .org is filling up quick with all the complaints from your workers. You remember your workers dont you, they seem to be just as upset with you as we are. LOL Keep em coming, all of you are welcome to join us. you can contact us on the badge fraud .org website. We will value you more then your boss does even if we dont pay you for your help. All of you need to clense your souls and you can do that with us.


Do NOT give this group anything and pick up the phone and call your local police and sheriff department so they can issue a warning to your neighbors so they dont get ripped off either

No kidding, they count on you to not report them thinking its no big deal, but it is a big deal, it is a very big deal as millions of dollars a year are being taken from the families of officers killed in the line of duty.
