Received a call from 518-203-3482 on 10/29/2014 at 6:15pm EDT. Caller ID displayed "V0291814360016354201". Did not answer and no message was left.

The odd caller ID that was displayed suggestes that the call wasn't from a legitimate business or individual. A Google search for this number turned up only one inconclusive report on whocalled.us.

Claiming that he was calling from the NYC police department recruiting funds to support police training programs that he was going to send me a kit containing all the information.
He wanted my address and full name and a form of payment that I was willing to make a donation with takes cc cards / bank account and routing # did not give any information and sounded that he was reading a varbiting speech from a pic . * BEWARE OF THIS SCAMMER * I reported to attorney general - bbb- ic3(fib)

This scam called me, returned there call. It is a recording... but the recording can interpret what you are saying. I even told the recording that it sounded like a recording, and it said "do I sound that bad". I then called back and did it all again and got the same responses. Furthermore, I said, " I myself am a police officer," then the message said "okay, no problem" and hung up. Kinda freaky, who do I report this to?

Called, left no message. As I can see it is a scam, thanks for your help.

11/04/2014 @ 04:25 PM from Troy, NY. Caller ID shows V10416250900130. We don't answer callers we don't know. Nml Figured it was a last ditch get out and vote call, but not surprised it was new (518) police scam.
I have Blacklisted this number. If this number calls again it will be registered to Caller ID history, but the phone will never ring.
