Yes, I am getting these too, When you answer they hang up. Or you can pretend to listen while they do their dance, usually I just place the phone on the table after saying Who is this? As soon as they click over, give them air.

By the number that is displayed I instinctively know this is a phony caller with a phony message, and worse a robocall.  I don't pick up, or I pick up and immediately hang up in order to stop the phone from ringing.

5/29/13 Just had a call at 5:40 p.m. PST, and the fools just stayed on the line. I could hear others in the background, phone banks, probably, then they hung up after I said hello twice! GRRRR! Maddening!  Call came in as "Go Green."

Call them back, press zero,  and leave a long message (I usually use music).

Something about the "solar initiative in the state of Colorado"  hung up after that.  Reporting it because I am on the DNC list   Why do we even have this??????

I have logged so many complaints with DNC and nothing gets done.. Just another GOV agency 'milking the cow' !!!!!

Caller ID "GO GREEN" ... JUNE 17@2:25pm EDT… I do not answer callers I do not know. They did not leave a message. Prior 800notes.com indicates SCAMMER.

These mutts called 2 times in a week. time to file a complaint with the DNC registry.

I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know.

It is best to not even answer any call from an unrecognized number.  If it is important, someone will  leave a message and/or call back.

The simple fact that you answered the call lets the sender know that it is a valid number and they sell it.  They do not even have to be selling a valid product.  If you press any key, then they know it is a valid number and if you say anything, especially if it is offensive, then you guarantee that your number will be sold.

About 5 months ago, I stopped answering calls from unknown numbers and I have seen a distinct decrease in all calls even valid commercial ones.  I used to receive about 2 - 3 calls a day and now it is down to about 1 a week.

Records are being kept that increase the validity of your number being active based on the number of times you have answered these phishing calls.  Those numbers with the highest connect rate net the most profit for the phishers and are highly prized for the commercial industry.

To stop the calls, DON'T  ANSWER THEM!

Called twice spaced 24 hrs apart, now blocked.

There are at least two options for those bothered by people originating these offensive calls:
1. Go to www.fcc.com and click on the electronic complaint form, filling out each of the entries (takes about two minutes), identifying the date and time of the unwanted call(s), any identifying information from Caller ID ("Unavailable" is a valid entry), your number where the call was received and your name, street and email addresses. The FCC will immediately respond with an email to you, identifying the file number assigned to your complaint. If everyone filed these complaints to the FCC, that deluge will prompt an investigation and likely a fine on the calling party.
2. I followed a recommendation from a comment listed elsewhere on 800Notes, where that person was extremely frustrated over calls from a number different than 518-212-3811(as the above folks obviously are) and purchased a DIGITONE Call Blocker from www.digitone.com Three features attracted my interest: a) I now can block up to 80 specific telephone numbers, b) This device has "First Ring Supression." meaning that you will not even hear the first ring!!, c) you can block entire area codes, a feature that can be used to block all 800, 866, 877, etc. numbers or those from specific (not toll-free) numbers. There may be other devices available, too. I saw immediate success with the one I purchased.

Even so, I regularly report annoying/illegal/robo calls, etc. to the FCC. Now that I also use the DIGITONE device these annoying calls have been greatly reduced in number.

Keep calling, won't answer MY questions. Frustrating.

Go Green - I said hello and it was an toddler who said something like "Steve?"  I said hello again, and they hung up!

Your recommendation is actually an excellent one which I implemented a few months ago; I also shut down my answering service and just allow the phone to ring, any kind of contact with your number prompts the caller to try again later.

The Do Not Call Registry is a JOKE.  They have no power to stop these robo or scmmer calls.
