I got the calls and wondered the same thing.

That is the number from the State University of New York Alert system.

Oh, you can also call that number, it will ask you to enter your 10 digit phone number, and it will call you back to validate you, and you can then retrieve the alert message.

I got same calls and wondered same thing.

That was an alert from the State University Alert System.

this call is a new york alert message...letting you know about a phone intertpt. problem in Broome County. I get these calls all the time for areas i do not live in. you can cancel you phone number from the system. nothing like being woken up at midnight to hear that a county no where near yours....has no phone service!

I guess they wont' stop calling until you pick up your cell. Was getting their calls for 2 days. They were calling me for so long. It was telling me that my school had a black out, but I already received it from them by email.
