- Susie| 5 repliesWhen these people die and go to Heaven they are going to be put in a room of on hold telephones and made to listen to the irritation they cause for half an eternity.
Medical alert system , First a recorded message and I clicked to see if a live person came on. I told them I was on the do not call list and hung up.
IF the Do not call list is to have any strength it needs to be enforced with heavy penalties.- Caller: Medical Alert System
- Call type: Telemarketer
- yef replies to SusieWho said these people were going to heaven? ;-)
- connieThis company calls me at least 7 times a week. I am on the do not call list. It is always a recording.

- John replies to AnonThe only reason the medic alert for seniors scammers call us, is to get our credit card numbers, so they can cheat us!
- TomI must have them blocked. # showed up on the list of phone call list but did not ring. Its really worth the money to get a call blocker.
- KenWe got a call from this number today at 12:35 pm and didn't answer. The caller ID was UNKNOWN NAME. A voice mail message was left regarding a medical alert system. We have gotten similar calls from several numbers. This one will be added to our call blocker.
- granny12/24/2013, 2:46 pm, "New York", "Medical Alert. Your order is ready for shipment, press 1 to .....your order....your referral....., press 9 to opt out. Only choices; I was afraid to press 1 to get more info, that it would automatically send something. Nasty, calling on Christmas Eve day knowing everyone is busy and giving a very confusing message that makes it sound like the person has ordered their product or been referred by a doctor, etc. Nasty scam. I've been on the Do Not Call list for years, doesn't seem to do any good as so few cases are actually prosecuted. I have call blocking, but they still find a way to get through; some will punch in a local number. Much of the time I just don't answer if my caller I.D. shows a number I don't know. So many robocalls that unless you listen to the whole message and press 9 to opt out they call again and again. We'll see if pressing 9 does opt me out of further calls.
- Caller: "Medical Alert"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- granny| 1 replyI just did a google review. AARP says to not press 9 for opt out as this lets them know they have reached a working number; just hang up. Arizona State Attorney Tom Horne has an interesting article and says calls like these can be reported to the State Attorney's office. Apparently a nationwide ongoing scam.
- Caller: Medical Alert
- Call type: Telemarketer
- John| 2 repliesCall came in as "Albany NY" medic alert order ready to ship. Obviously a scam! (never ordered anything). I am on the Do Not Call List...yet, these people continue to call, I BLOCKED THEIR PREVIOUS NUMBER 518-621-4615. So...I read on this site, another thread an interesting solution. My carrier offers selective call forward, so... I simply forward their calls to yet another obnoxious robo-call company. Merry Christmas!

- ChrisCaller ID: ALBANY NY
The scammer left a partial recorded message on our answering machine which contained "...personal medical alert system at no cost to you..."
Our numbers are in the Do-Not-Call Registry.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Lin replies to Susie| 2 repliesThese people are NOT going to Heaven. Heaven is for the good guys. These people are NOT the good guys. There is not a telemarketer alive who is actually a good guy. Everybody knows that telemarketers are the most despised people on earth. Well, okay, maybe after the terrorists and the used car salesmen. Don't they understand that people do not want to be bothered with this nonsense? Caller ID is as necessary to life as bread and water in this day and age. If you do not know the identity of the caller, let it go to your answering machine or your voice mail. The Do Not Call list is a national joke. The telemarketers have figured a way around it and use things like disposable phones that cannot be traced (and thus, fined) OR they have the calls re-routed out of the country and back here. It's the age of the Internet. Your only defense is not to answer the phone. If you are in the mood, answer the phone and "toy" with them. Tell them you are eating dinner or whatever, ask for a call back number, their first and last name and tell them you will cal them back at your convenience. Use up their precious time. Tell them you are a houses guest and the owners aren't at home. Tell them you have a bridge you'd like to sell them. The best payback is to lead them on, make them THINK they have a sale, make them WORK for it and then hesitate and tell them you have to think about it, do some research, etc., etc. Create a bogus credit card number. If you research the internet, you can figure out how to do this and not cause problems for another person. There are ways, but you have to be careful and deliberate and know what you are doing. Buy a shrill whistle to blow into the phone. Have some fun and entertainment at their expense. Be the OFFENSE, not the DEFENSE! Make lemonade when those lemony calls come in.
