called twice asked for husband by name and then hung up, return call goes right to voicemail.

I received a call today, from this number.   I saw the number appear on caller ID, did not answer live.
No message was left. Possibly a telemarketer for charity.

Called on a Saturday morning, came up on caller id as Athens, did not leave a message.

No answer to this phone call

I got called as well, came up as Athens NY on my caller ID, asked for my name and then hung up.

Claims to be Association of Police asking for money.

Called my mother's house and asked for me....says his name was "Greg" and hung up when she said I didn't live there.  Caller ID also stated from Athens.  I returned the call as well and voice message said mailbox was full and disconnected

Keeps calling me and all I hear is noise like people talking than hangs up.

Receive a call every day from this number.  No response, goes to busy signal.

My husband answered the phone and he asked for me.  The person started talking and had said that I made a pledge to the Police Association but never paid.  But I have never spoke to this person and he even said I pledge $50 to the Assoc.  First of all I give no pledges over the phone, especially $50, he said my conversation was recorded but refused to let me hear it and then got very angry with me and hung up.  Be aware this is a scam, do not give them any money or it is your loss.

I currently live in NY and as per my local precinct and state troopers, they do not call for any donations. What you may receive, as I have in the past, will be an official donation request form from the local PBA. Other than that, no phone calls are made for soliciting donations. If you are suspicious, just call your local precinct and verify with them. Also, our volunteer firefighters (we have volunteer depts in my area) also do not call for donations. They send a yearly donation request form also and also hold various fund raisers to help support their events for the community. Again, any suspicious calls, just call your local fire department also.

I don't even answer my landline anymore either unless I recognize the number. I no longer have an answering machine either, unplugged it and I seem to get less calls now since it only rings before anyone hangs up and they don't seem to call back. I do get the same morons, who despite being cut off by the first ring since I installed a terrific little call blocker, will continue to call and still get cut off but that it their problem, not mine, LOL.

I have noticed, though, that most of the police/state trooper calls I have received are coming from various area codes in NY (unless they are spoofing the number).

Just be aware and be cautious. We do not need to let these people win.

I'm getting calls at least 10x aday from this number,it comes up Athens,as soon as I pick up I hear a noise and then a click from them hanging up,I call the number back and get recording,your call can not be completed at this time.Does anyone know how this is,I've been reading everyone's notes,but it looks like no one knows.I need to do something,it's becoming out of control the amount of times they call.

Blocking this number does NOT work, at least using Verizon software.  One to two days every week-day evening.  We don't answer.  No voice mail message.  Next time, one of us will scream into the phone, which usually stops humans from ever calling again.  This doesn't work for robocalls...
