I received a phone call from this number few minutes ago. I ignored it since I did not see a name on my phone screen. Must be an annoying spam or telemarketers.

Just noticed a missed call on July 5 from NY, didn't recognize the number and I don't know anybody in NY. Could be a political survey? I suppose it's about time for those again.

Received 2 calls in last couple hours. I showed it was from Albany NY and the other said 'Not Available' om the number ID. If this worthless bunch in the Do Not Call offices can't stop this crap, why not put it on the carriers to police their own customers????

I got a call from 518-608-2219. When I called back, I got a recording that said, "I'm sorry. You have reach a number that has been disconnected or no longer in service."

The Do Not Call list has never worked for me on cell phones or land lines. It is useless as far as I am concerned.

I received a call from this number just now and of course they hung up.  When I returned the call I received the "no longer in service" recording.  I researched the number and it shows as a landline in New York.  But, from past experience, some foreign country callers can appear as a valid number in the states, when, in fact they are not.  So, bottom line, if you don't recognize the number, let it go to voice mail.  I use my phone's call block to block future calls from that number, but they always switch to another number.

Why must these games be played? I call back after 3 hours and it's magically disconnected

Just blocked this one also! I am so grateful for Panasonic's phones ability to block so many of these horrible, stupid calls! I block all of the numbers who call and leave no message who I do not recognize!

I got a call from this number a few days ago and answered it (I do have family in NY) the gentleman said his name was Rick and his company had just started offering car insurance in my area and would I like a quote to see if they could lower my rate? Note: he did not give the ins company name, he called them "his company" right there you know it's not legit. I told him no, and he proceeded to ask me to verify my information and gave an address I've never lived at, clearly hoping I'd correct him. I hung up and in the three days since I've had 12 missed called from that number, blocked now!

Just received a phone call from this number.  They called/hung up on 7/21 and 7/22.  My husband called back on 7/22 and got the "no longer in service" message.  They called today and I answered.  A man who sounded like he was calling from a wind tunnel in India asked to speak to me (called me by name).  Did not give his name, said he was from mumble-mumble [sort of sounded like "US Auto Insurance"] about my mumble-mumble policy [sort of sounded like the name of my actual car insurance company].  I asked him to repeat.  He mumbled in the same 2 spots of the sentence.  I asked what it was about; his response was also mumbled but it kinda sounded like he said I was being dropped at the end of the month [not true].  I asked how he got my name since my auto policy is in my husband's name.  He hesitated then said he has all the names on the policy and repeated the earlier sentence that sounded like the insurance carrier was dropping us.  I told him I didn't know what he was talking about and he needed to speak to my husband and then hung up on him.  I believe it is someone trying to run a scam.  The rare times I have had contact with the auto insurance company they have always been very reluctant to speak to me; they insist on speaking with my husband since he is listed as the primary on the insurance,

Do not answer calls from this number. They will try to act like they belong to some insurance company or something. I just hung up after I couldn't understand them. They actually knew my name??

I also got a call from this company.  No voicemail.  Tried to call back, number was disconnected.

Here's my guess on the scam.  They call, if you answer they will hang up.  If you don't answer, it will go to voicemail, and they will hear your voicemail greeting to get your name.  Based on what others are saying on here, they will call back and call you by name.  Since then heard your name on the greeting, then will call you by name with confidence.  Hence, the beginning of whatever scam they are running.

This may sound stupid, but the best thing to do is answer the call, and hang up right away.  Don't let it go to voicemail.  Block the number if you can.  If you can't, don't answer.  If you answer on accident, tell them to [***] OFF.

I have received this phone call 3 times so far.  I tried calling it back and of course I got the disconnected.  I answered it today and it was for Auto Savings.  I told him to remove this number...we shall see I get another call back.

Just got a call from this number. Man with heavy Indian accent asking for my husband by name. Told him he is not here can I take a message. He asks if I am a family member.  I answer yes. He then proceeds with I am from US Auto ins and am not asking you to switch companies but I may be able to lower you rates. He then says can you confirm your zip code is -----.  I asked to be removed from their call list. He then hangs up. Total scam!  Don't ever give anyone your info over the phone unless you called them.

Don't even answer these calls. They are just trying to find out when you are home so that they can have one of their idiots call and try to scam you.

Same as many above, only the man asked for me by my maiden name (haven't used in years) and pronounced it wrong, which would negate the idea that names are being obtained from voicemails. I hung up on him.
