June 22nd 2052 EDT.  Asked for $299.00 for computers for blind children.  I said that's way too much and was asked again for $100.  I said no, and the person quickly hung up on me.  Did not say from what organization.

Called yesterday but didn't leave a message.

I have been called by this number a few times in the last 2 weeks

I received a call from that # this morning.  I didn't get to the phone in time to answer it.  I checked the # and typed it in a Google search and found this forum.  They didn't leave a message.

phone rang twice...then hung up...did not answer it

They new my name and asked for money to purchase computer for blind kids in Ontario, Canada.

I got a call from this number today. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Received this called at 11 am today...  I answered the phone and all they said was Does your mommy love me in a child like voice.  Then they hanged up.  They are not even in my area code .. my area code is 613

called here a few times. No immediate response when I say hello. Hung up on them the last time, this morning

Weird, I'm in 613 too.  519 is the area code for Guelph which is the only reason I was curious

Got a call from this # this morning.  Asked for me by full name (I wasn't home, my daughter answered).  I am in area code 506  ????

I just got a call from this number. The lady in the phone addressed my name, so at first I thought she knew me. Then she asked me to donate $300ish for a  laptop for the blind chidren. I told her that we just had laid-off and have to face a lot of unpaid bills, and that I would like to donate later when we are back to jobs. The lady quickly drop the nubmer down to $100 and then to $32. She was very persuasive and aggressive, and she cut my words like, "Oh you can pay $32. Think about those blind people who have 70% employment! I appreciate your support. Please don't hung up." Quickly a guy took over and asked me to give him my visa and master card number. I told him that I never provide  my visa number on phone or online for safety purpose. I felt like I was cornered. I told him that I could write a check and mail to their mailing address. But he sitll insisted that I give him the visa number. I was frustrated, and then he asked my mailing address and will mail me a letter with my pledged $32. Do they really spend  every penny of the donation on blind children? If so, I don't mind squeeze some money for donation.

I got this call today...It didn't sound legit so I said yes to everything just to @#$% with them...Waste my time...Sheesh....

This is a definite scam.  I read the above stories and got the same caller (ie. Canadian Council for the Blind).  I told him I didn't have the money and would send it to their regional office should I have some extra money at the end of the month.  He told me they only called once; nobody is THAT pushy.
