This is G C Services out of Knoxville,TN. They are a collection service for the Dept. of Education calling about unpaid student loans.

Left no message on the answering machine.  Showed up on the caller ID as "OPERATIONS DIV".  As soon as I saw the number, I immediately recognized the area code as an Arizona area code.  (I was born and raised in AZ and actually have family that currently LIVE in that area code.)  I went to AnyWho.com and plugged in the number and here's the info that was listed there.

I have NO idea what Operations Divison is.  As far as someone looking for payment of unpaid student loans, I don't now have and never have had a student loan--much less an unpaid one.

Called at 8:00 am on a saturday morning.  I have 4 small children and my husband and I were also sleeping.  Did not leave a message but phone number was 520 293-2596 operations division.  What professional company calls on the weekend that early?

Yes, Dep. of Ed. people, and also had them call very early on a weekend. But what was worse is that the lady that called left a Very demanding tone, but wouldn't say anything other than to call her back. Thats how I found this listing here, since Im not returning a call that you don't tell me what it is about... Bleh...

It is D.C. Services they are a collection agency. My call was about a student loan. I have been off work for 3 years on a Workers comp case. I explained it and they said they couldn't put me on a payment program. Then went on to try to get me to voluntarily go on one. When I wouldn't they said they would mark it down as refusal to pay. I told them to mark it down that I said blow it out their cornholes!!

It seems they just call random numbers at times and actually get ppl that owe them money? They called me and asked for someone I don't know, I just told them wrong number and hung up.

These people call every now and then and phish for names that are similar to mine who owe them money. Caller ID reads: Operations Division in Tucson, Arizona.

I too got an early weekend call from a demanding woman. The number came up as all zeros on my caller id, but she did say she was located in Tucson.
The frustrating part was I had already spoken to someone (who was much more polite) earlier that week who claimed I had a defaulted student loan in my name to a school in my area I didn't attend or had heard of (when I googled the school's name, I even found that it had shut down 2 years before I ever attend any college). I told her that sounded odd and that I would check that out for myself and contact them back in a week. So getting this ruder phone call only a few days later and there being nothing noted on my "file" about me checking into it was frustrating.
The lady kept going into her schpeal and I just kept saying "Yes, I'm aware of this and believe it's an error, so I am checking into it" and "I already spoke with (so-and-so) about this a few days ago. Isn't it noted there?" Which only made her angrier and more demanding. Every now and then, she'd say "let me see here" and would check her screen and say something like "Oh yes, I see that".

Shouldn't these people maybe read the progress on their file before calling at (no pun intended) uncalled-for times with such attitude?

As I told the previous caller, I told her this didn't seem correct and that I was checking into it with the alleged school and my credit report, but she still refused to listen (or make note) and kept trying to set up a payment plan. I would've hung up immediately after the second time we went through all of this in the same call if I didn't know how bad it'd look on my part and if I didn't think this rude individual would make some negative notes on the file and try to progress this to an even worse position.

Same deal, calling to collect. Don't they get it??? Me can't pay da man!
When you answer if you do let them know they are being recorded and they will hang up as they know they have unlawful practices and would be sued if evidence was in hand.

Caller asked me to deliver a message down the street to a neighbor I don't know saying the message was urgent. The call back number was 866-427-4864 extension 509040. The Caller ID was 520-293-2596. I did a reverse phone lookup, seems this is a jacked-up collection agency stooping to some really lame tactics that are borderline illegal.

They called this morning asking for my 91yr old Grandmother.  Who very definitely doesn't have any student loans.  I think I will wait to see if they call again, and see what they say.  This is VERY odd.

Got a call from this number and googled it.. I'm not a US citizen but live in California (I'm Canadian) and have never gone to school here.. strange that I would be getting a call regarding a student loan if that's who they are.  Called at 340 in the afternoon and didn't leave a message.  Also am on the Do Not Call Registry

Although I am making payments on my student loan, they are demanding a higher payment from me!
On recordings of a male voice -- wanting me to call him by 5:00 p. m. -- he talks so fast, that I have to listen all of his messages four times.  Then, I still can't hear what the extension number is.  He has called as late as 9:30 p. m., and even at night on the weekends.  
People need to file complaints, the Attorney Generals in their states, against this "telemarketer".

I live in Utah and got a call from 1-520-293-2596 today.  The man, who said he was in Arizona, wanted to know if I could give a message to my neighbor but the name he gave wasn't familiar.

Called me at work and asked for the number to my company's payroll office so they could go on with wage garnishments. Never got a letter about it, and if it were a government agency they wouldn't need to go through me to get that information.

Immediately following they called my husband at home and tried to get him to 'verify' the last four of my social, but wanted him to say it, not them. When he refused they stated that they could not tell him who they are or why they are calling, sounds like they are trying to collect data about people's identities. Very suspicious behavior for a government office.

Called demanding to talk to someone that doesn't live with us. We don't even know who this person is. I asked what the call was about and they said it was confidential. They kept demanding for a contact number for this person we don't even know. Had to tell them twice no one by that name lives here nor do we even know who the person is.

Called and hung up. added to my blocked list on my helio phone.

Called rang twice, no message.  Dodging answering machine I suspect.  The person who had my number before is very popular with debt collectors.  Beats having an old 24 hour pizza service number.
