- CheetahDear All: In March 2010, I traveled to Los Angeles from the East Coast. Shortly thereafter, I started receiving odd calls on my mobile phone, one number traced back to Sacramento, another to L.A. This number: 520-309-5894, seems to be based out of Arizona (yet another West Coast location). I'm thinking that either a hostel I used or the neighborhood ENTERPRISE rental car must have let out my information, since all other L.A. contacts are personal, and known for years, therefore, I can only suspect the two sources listed above. I don't even answer these calls, I just trace the number on my call log. They never leave a message. I feel if someone wants to speak with me, they will leave a voice mail message. I strongly suspect it's some sort of scam. Don't talk to people you don't know, especially these days; if you don't recognize the number, they can always leave a message, and you can call back if you chose to. The Cheetah
- ddcminnThey called my cell#, didn't recognise the number. Figured it was might be a friend that only calls when he needs his car repaired. Find out a few people have had this number call thier cell lately, don't answer a call unless its someone you know for sure. You may not get rid of them!!
- rudyJust got one, traced back to Tucson AZ
- ladybayJust got this call 5203095894 on my cell phone. I never answer calls that I don't recognize. Sure am tired of this.

- Snoop replies to NoodlesEven if your cell number is new to you, they may have your number on file (listed for someone else). The company I work for recently provided cell phones (texting only plans) to the employees in place of pagers. A co-worker of mine was receiving collection calls occasionally, because the cell number was not "new". It belonged to someone before him.
- magnoliasouthGot it on my Google Voice number. I love Google Voice! What's great is I can block the number where next time they call, it'll tell them my number was disconnected. No more annoyances. Hopefully they won't call my home or cell though.
- Caller: Card Holder Services
- Creeper1313Got a VM from them on my Verizon Wireless # just now. Pretty obvious scam as others have said. Here's the message text (cleaned up a bit from my Google Voice transcript):
"Hi there are problems currently with your account. It is urgent that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rates to as little as 6.9%. Your eligibility expires shortly, so please consider this your final notice. Press number 1 on your telephone now to speak with a live operator to lower your interest rates, or press 3, to be taken off the list. Thank you."
Going to report to donotcall.gov hoping they can track them down/shut them down.- Caller: Unknown

- Tom LaytonJust got a call here in Pittsburgh. No message. I only use my cell rarely, so I think its just random dialing from the firm.
- These guys have been calling for years!520-309-5894 repeatedly calls pretending to be 'Credit Card Member Services' - kind of implying that they work for YOUR credit card company.
It's a recording. Dial 1 for operator, Dial 2 to be removed from call list.
Even if you dial 2 to be taken off their calling list they keep calling every few days. They kept calling my home landline, even though I was on the Do Not Call registry.
I just dumped my landline-and they just called my cellphone. Which was a nice reminder to put my cell # on the Do Not Call Registry (which is now permanent, instead of expiring every 5 years).- Caller: Credit Card Member Services?
- Call type: Telemarketer
