I answered and she tried to convince me what a great idea this research is but I just kept repeating "We don't support or donate to medical research"

Called today, hung up with no message. Cold Caller

I've received a few calls from these cretins but I never answer. About 6 months ago the FTC shut down the Breast Cancer Society in Mesa, Arizona. That "charity" made big money for its owners but gave almost nothing to breast cancer victims. Do you suppose there's a connection? After all, if you just say "breast cancer" people will throw all kinds of money at you.

Woman wanted to send out a "pledge kit", which would allow making as low as a $50.00 or $75.00 donation to a Breast Cancer Fund.  She didn't say how much of the money actually went for Breast Cancer.

Called at 8:11 AM, accidentally answered it expecting another caller. Paid professional solicitor for "breast cancer" something or other (not Am. Cancer Society). Claimed that they were supporting clinical trials of two vaccines. Yeah . . .
Every time I look into these sorts of things, i find the solicitor keeps about 50%, and the "charity" spends at least 50% on their overhead, so only about $20 of every $100 you donate actually gets to the "program goals".

This call came into our business line.  I barely answered and she screamed is Richard there?  I said excuse me and she screamed at me she was from the Breast Cancer Research and wanted to speak to the man of the house.  I said this is a business, there is no man of the house and she slammed the phone down.

it's probably a barely legal non profit that will soon be shut down. You can call 1-520-428-0184 to reach a recording but there is an option to have your number removed from their list. I know I know, your number shouldn't be on their list to begin with. If you are so inclined do a little research and find out where this Tele Marketing company is (Safford, AZ), and go kick their door down and get your justice... personally I just unplug my phone for a few days... my real phone is my cell phone anyway. ;)

New # for these scummers. Having been down the road THREE times with the big BC, I KNOW not to answer these calls. I might add: this # is NOT from Safford, which is in the 928 area code. Get a life, creeps!

they called.  I picked up with an annoyed "Yes".   after 5-6 seconds they started to say something then cut off.

12-21-15  received call from some lady requesting a donation for breast cancer, let her talk for at least 30 seconds before hanging up on her.  now since reading info here looks like I did the right thing. we do not donate to any phone solicited charity. now I have blocked her number to prevent future calls from these low lifers.

Scam.  I do what I do with all calls like this: I lift the receiver for one or two seconds, then hang up. And if I'm not home to do that, it goes to voicemail, where they NEVER leave a message.

Cathom, Caller ID is no longer valid since it's susceptible to spoofing. The spoofing software is easily available for iOS, Android and computers. So this caller could be anywhere in the world. If we spread the word that those who receive such calls should just pick up and hang up without engaging in conversation, they'll eventually go away.

she ask for a name... & then say "even I don't get her, I like to ....." and I told her this is a business, she would not stop talking... even I was talking at the same time... & she hung up.

Lowest of Low  Sum Bags  (this caller made me join 800 Notes)  I had breast cancer surgery last week.  My surgeon's phone calls also come in with ID Breast... so I answered.  Her "Can I speak to *husband's first name*?"  Me "This is *my first name*." Her "This is blah blah paid fund raiser blah blah can I speak to the man of the house?" Me "I don't think so." Hang up. Block. Join 800 notes.  Search online - number associated with bogus charity raising money off cancer.  Classy to hit up stressed out husband's of cancer victims.  Not to mention bugging cancer victims recovering from surgery.Scummy, Scummy, nasty.  (I am doing well good results, good prognosis BTW)

Now the CID is Tucson, AZ, which happens to be my home state. No mention of Breast Cancer etc. & so forth. Didn't pick up, though, so I don't know what their latest shtick is.

Same game different number, Breast Cancer Society.  Scum bags were supposedly shut down but crop up periodically.  FCC really nailed them for a multimillion dollar scam with a fine of 72 K to the principle slime ball operating out of Mesa.  A mere pittance for what they had reaped.  My sympathy goes out to people like "Leave me alone99" above, glad you are recovering well,  they really don't need the senseless harassment.  I think I may refer their number to ISIS they have a way of dealing with low life grifters that we don't.  Don't answer, don't call back and block number if possible.  Anything you might want to say will have no affect as these people have no sense of what values you may have.  Answering or returning a call just indicates you have an active number and precipitates furthers calls.
