This Call, When Returned is Reported to be a "Non-Working Number at UPS."

A person called me from this number who claimed to be with UPS asking about a package that UPS was investigating.  However, there is something suspicious about this, because we had not ordered anything.  I got the feeling it was someone trying to glean some time of information.  They gave me a UPS tracking number, but when I tried tracking it on the UPS website, it was not a valid number.  However, this could be because they claim it was shipped in October and it's been over a month.  I don't know how long UPS keeps tracking numbers in their database.

Same story.  Received a call on 2/26/08 @ 4:25 p.m. claiming to be Joe Beddencourt from UPS wanting to confirm we had received a package from HSN (that had turned out to be a stolen credit card number - of course did not tell him that!).

two calls, no messages, one it was like they forgot to hang up for a few seconds, but couldn't hear what they were trying to say.  Both calls 3/27 around 10 am and 7 pm

Yes, this is UPS. I called in a claim about a lost package. I answered and it was UPS responding about it

I got the same call.  Claimed to be calling from "UPS Store in California, doing a follow-up whether I receieved my watch."  I never ordered a watch from California; plus the fact it is an AZ area code.  He knew my full name and address and asked me to confirm it.  What's the deal?!?

received 2 calls from this number one at 430 am and again at 1020 am on 5/28/08 both times they hung up on me when I answered

I got a call from this number but they hung up when I answered.

I also got called on 7/3/2008.
In my scenario, I was tracking a lost package from tgw.com.

I didn't recognized the area code, so I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

hello there, i have the some problem as you, this number called me that and tell me i have ordered a receiver from a shop, and claim to be a credit card stolen, and i like what the heck, so what happened to you after that.

Called me about an order back in July and currently I am in the month of October. It was a male caller and asked me if I signed for the package or if it was left at the door. He specified himself as a UPS employee and when I contacted the place where the order was from they said they used USPS for that purchase so I knew it was a bogus call. Good thing I didn't give any personal information out. He was so apologetic and quick to get off the phone, it was kind of scary. And the fact that he didn't ask for anything over the phone, makes me wonder what the nature of the phone call was and what he is doing with whatever information he has about me. Please post anything you might know about this.

My guess: former UPS employee who has all of our contact information on file, address, name, phone numbers, places of purchase, and he is going through one by one calling us and maybe even stalking our apts/houses to steal any future orders/purchases/packages we may have. Watch out for this.

Just an FYI...520-806-6666 IS a phone number for UPS.  Our idiot driver left the package on the front doorstep despite the additional payment made for "Signature required" and the big bold black letters on the package that said DO NOT LEAVE ON DOORSTEP.    But I digress....this number was the claims department calling me, not once, but three times, to get a "statement".  Ummm...same statement stupid....it said don't leave it on the doorstep for a reason....because the box plainly shows what's inside and now someone else is enjoying my item.  

Now, that doesn't mean that these idiots aren't using the work phones for illegal activities....I'd NEVER give my personal or financial information to someone who called, even from a legit business, if "I" didn't initiate the call or at least be expecting the call.

I received a call from this number after I reported a package missing. The package was recovered and delivered to my address. The person was calling to follow up and was overly apologetic.

I felt a little weird about the call and having given my address to a stranger over the phone so I called UPS a few minutes later to see if someone from one of their departments had called me and they did verify that someone had indeed called me from customer service. So the number is legit UPS, it probably just can't receive incoming phone calls.

This nubmer is for the UPS call center. it really is.

I receive a bunch of Fax calls to me from this number.  I forwarded it to my Fax machine and in comes a "delivery Charge Request" apparently from UPS.  I wish they removed me from their list since this is a PHONE NUMBER!!!

Guy identified himself as Joe and asked if this was my address and phone, which the address was incorrect. He apologized and hung up.  One week later I get another call from 515-263-7502 from caller id united parcel service by the name of Jen requesting that she speak to me "imperatively".  When I tried to return both of these numbers I get 'NON-WORKING' number messages.  I use to work closely with delivery companies and can assure you that these tactics are FRAUDULENT in nature.....do not answer any personal information to these numbers as they are posing as UPS and attempting to gather personal information about you.   BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!
