I am getting calls nite and day from this number numerous times in a day.  Its annoying.  It just started a week ago and hasn't stopped.  Disrupting our household.  Any suggestion on how to stop them.  They hang up the phone after we answer only.

Just got a call from this #. I let the answering machine get it. The guy actually didn't listen to the message and was talking to the machine. "Hello Mr. Bob, Hi is that you?"

I have a friend that received a call from this number and the person said that my friend had a maturing policy and that if she did not claim it soon, she would loose all her money.   This was supposedly at Manulife.  After numerous questions the person admitted to be a Independent Advisor selling Life Insurance and it appeared that they would be selling Manulife Insurance.

the top of this page says that 521 is an invalid area code. That combined with the last 4 digits of the number (0000....really! How likely is that?) tell us that the number is spoofed (and at that by some unimaginative moron who can't figure out what the valid area codes are.

    Manulife, schmanulife....pure 100% unadulturated scam.

I didn't even answer because the number was so suspicious. My call block can't even block it as it is not a real number.

Called me claiming to be Microsoft Certified Tech.  Told me that my home PC was downloading viruses and malware.  Clearly a hoax or phishing.

Could not tell me which of my computers was downloading the viruses/malware.

Told me that all of the "Errors" and "Warnings" in the application log were evidence that the computer was downloading viruses and malware.  Although it is possible that an application would log such message to this location, it is not true that they all are.   I personally reviewed each error and warning message and none were related to downloading viruses or malware.

Then proceeded to tell me type a URL into my browser.  At this point I told him that I was sure this was a hoax and hung up.

It seems pretty clear to me that they were trying to get me to goto a website, download their malware, and install it.

Got a call well actually several, I picked up the first time and called the guy on his [***] and hung up, he proceeded to call me back 5 more times just to say [***] you repeatedly, to which I responded for him to hang himself with the telephone cord( that comment when I reported the number to the cops made the cop laugh so hard, he said it was the best reaction he's heard of yet lol) this is the third time in 3 weeks they have called me from different numbers the last two times I was not home and there was no message, I have reported all three numbers to Microsoft and I suggest everyone else start doing the same so Microsoft can go after theses dejected losers and stop the madness

Have been called by this number several times. Without a name, I don't answer. No message left on the machine, so clearly not someone that I know.

I just got a call from this number and it was a legitimate inquiry for work. I asked her about the number on my display, it's VONAGE - mystery solved. She has a real phone number to call back, but the outgoing calls come up like 521-589-0000.

    Tired of These Calls
Just got a call from this number, but I do not answer numbers I do not recognize, especially those with no name coming up.  Just tell the person if they say they are from Microsoft that you have no computer so how can this happen.  They will hang real fast or tell them how interesting my husband is the head of Microsoft, so I will check with him.  It is unfortunate that older people actually often believe these people when they answer their phone and get themselves into bad situations.  Why can't these Scammers be stopped?
