I just got a call on my cell from this number (after midnight). Leaping out of bed thinking there was an emergency, I heard a choppy pre-recorded message supposedly from a bank (the name ended in Point). I don't have an account with a bank whose name ends in Point. The message instructed me to press one for (garbled words) and press 2 to speak to someone immediately. The message started over, and this time I understood it to say that my account had been compromised. Again, I don't have an account with a bank ending in the name Point. Dirty rat [***]. I have sleep issues and had finally drifted off to sleep before this stupid attempt at FRAUD!

Sorry. I used a bad word at the end of my comment (I'm really mad). If there is an edit button to change it, I can't find it. Apologies....

Was a choppy voice recorded message something something was wrong with my account, that I needed to reactivate it or something. Press 1 to do something... my husband was about to make a big purchase on our card and I wondered if this was from our card company because Chase is really good at that, but it didn't sound like the normal procedure for Chase. I pressed one anyway and it immediately said that it was going to need three bits of information to verify my security and blah blah. After it asked me for my credit card number, I immediately hung up. Definitely a fraud scam! Do not give your information to them! I'm assuming the next two things I was going to have to enter was my security code and expiration date. People are unbelievable these days. Who can you trust!?

I just received a very choppy message saying my debit card had been compromised with _____ Point bank.  To reactivate my card, I needed to press 1.  I was told I would be asked three pieces of information, including giving my 16 digit debit card number.  I don't own a debit card, but I entered a 16 digit card number using a combination of 4 series numbers I knew from other cards.  I immediately received a message saying that was not an accurate number to reenter the number again.  I hung up.  I phoned the number back and received, "We're sorry, all circuits are busy now.  Please try your call again later."

Two things:  I do not bank with a bank that has Point in its name.  I do not own any kind of a debit or credit card.

Phony, phony, phony.  Remember, never give your data to anyone!!!

We have a cell phone account with one of the top ranking cell phone providers (I doubt that it is ok to say who in this furom). I posted an angry message about this scam 20 hours ago. There are 4 cell phones associated with this cell phone account. ALL 4 CELL PHONES got the same call within an approximate 1 hour time frame, beginning with the phone with the "lowest" number (i.e. starts with "2") and ending with the highest in sequence, approximately 15 minutes apart. (to be fair, the last of the four calls was not answered, and no voice mail was left, but no one calls that number at 12:30 am.) My provider insists this is coincidence.

Are the rest of you who are getting these call getting them on your cell phones? Just curious. I believe my cell phone providers list of phone numbers has been compromised.

12:30 AM -- received the same call as all of the rest of you on my CELL PHONE. I have a sick mother and I panicked when this call woke me thinking it was an emergency.  I agree with SleepDeprived -- I think our cell company (starts with a V and end in erizon) has had their list of phone numbers compromised).  Thanks to these jerks I'm facing another night of insomnia.

    TrishInTexas,
I'm with a different cell phone company than you, but I think most of the complaints I have read about this scam (in this forum and others) have been received on cell phones. 2 of 4 of our cell phones received the call again yesterday before noon. Frustrating!

AHow do we get these stoped?

Received exact same message as the rest of you. Is this not illegal in some way? It is definitely a fraudulent practice, surely there is somewhere to report this? I would hate my 79 year old mother to get that call and give the requested information because she doesn't know any better. Reprehensible!!

I got a call from 530-230-5125 just a few hours ago at 2 am.  A poor recording stating to be a Bank (POint Bank maybe?) and saying something about a compromised account.  I was out of it and don't remember much.  I think I hung up before it finished.  I've had identity theft issues in the past and this sort of thing is so frustrating.

We are also receiving calls on all 4 cell numbers under the same account (my cell provider starts with an "A" and ends with a "T"). The most recent being at 2:42am today...this is ridiculous!!
