Asked if my PC was ok........... DUHHHH... I work on them for a living and why would they be calling me ?

Someone identified herself as "Miranda."  She had my first name correct and asked for me.  She said my Windows PC was not installing updates properly and she wanted me to get in front of my PC so she could walk me through some steps.  Immediately I recognized this as a phishing attempt.  I asked where I could call her back at and she refused to give me a number.  I asked who she worked for and she hung up.  The number on caller ID is 530-232-0307 and is spoofed.  When you call it, nothing happens.  Watch out for these scammers.

Yep scammers...do NOT give them any info. I asked what company they worked for and they hung up. Jerks!

Hi, they called my home phone number which I rarely give out, just to kin.  In fact, I can only call local numbers and toll free numbers.  I got it cuz it is a part of my TV, internet package.  So these fools got it off of some list or maybe cable company that provided me number or some where.  I did not answer, no name on caller ID either.  Take care!

Popped up twice in several days. noone at other end

I received this call several times, I recognize phone number and did not answer. Rarely do I answer numbers that I am not familiar. I get so many spam calls generally, I am sadly use to them.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

I've received a call from this number in the past few days. The first time I picked up even though I rarely pick up phone calls from strangers and no one said anything. They just called me right now again, but I didn't pick up. After reading this thread I'm really glad I didn't pick it up. Thank you guys!

Missed call from 530-232-0307 around 4pm. Caller ID showed: "MICHAEL WILLIS". No message left.

The lady on the other end told me my computer was sending them error messages and wouldn't let them up date my computer. Call came from Califofnia I think it's a SCAM.

Got a call from 530-232-0307 Michael Willis but the fella from india claimed he was someone else so I told him to go find some one else to scam and shame on him because what he was saying was not matching caller ID at all. Should have acted all excited and put him on hold for an hour like the last Microsoft guy, tell them you have to turn on the computer and be happy they want to help you and put them on hold and get back every now and then to keep them on the line as your computer is very slow when I never turned it on to begin with... I enjoy getting them excited thinking they are getting away with it and messing with them right back. Had the FBI call and demand $400 so I said how great you are going to send me money! Then the fine went up to $1000 and I thanked him again and said I was running to mailbox for the check. Puzzles and frustrates the crap out of them and I no longer get angry but laugh my ass off at their excited anger because I just can't seem to comprehend what they want..

this is getting ridiculous, this phone number calls about 4 times daily they never say anything and if you call the number back it comes up a voice message saying to leave your name and number, isn't there a way to report them? Caller ID says from Redding CA

rec'd my first call from 530.232.0307 today. Michael willis name on i.d. box. so I checked it out on line. I found all of the info. I needed. I want everyone know how much I appreciate their input. thank's again guys.

I keep getting phone calls from these [***] I said don't call back and still they keep calling I put their number on the Do Not Call registry 5 days ago and still so I called them back and said they are still calling this better stop or they will be sorry I will call the police...

Could not understand the name of the company or the caller himself. Had a foreign accent (actually sounded Russian, not Indian, as I would have expected). He told me, in broken English, that he was calling because my computer was generating error messages on the global internet service. He also said that my computer was receiving viruses and not responding to their attempts to block them. He constantly asked me if I understood what was going on. I insisted that I had excellent virus protection and he was not calling from my computer monitoring company. He tried to tell me that he did indeed work for my monitoring company. I told him this was a known scam and not to call again. He still tried to insist that I needed his help. I told him to go away and hung up. Sheesh!

They called saying there was a problem with my windows PC. I verified with my wife that this was not true, realized this was not a 1-800 number, and proceeded to yell at them where they turned around and began yelling back which is another instance i knew this to be a fake because real tech support does not yell at the customer, they hang up on you.

I just got a call from this number but didn't answer.  I've been getting a lot of calls lately. Do not call list is worthless because they don't do anything unless they have a ton of complaints and these people use different numbers.  I just ordered a TeleZapper from Ebay for $20.00 but haven't received it yet.  I had on years ago and they work well.  You plug it into your phone line and when you or your answering machine pick up it sends out 3 tones that tell the computer they have dialed a non-working number and takes your number off their list.    I've read that the telezapper may not work it voice mail answers but I had to get an answering machine because my voice mail wasn't always notifying me of messages.  Technology!  One other thing I have done to these people is get a whistle and blow it as loud as I can.  

I've asked them to remove my number at least  times!  How do I get this to stop?

Thanks for the information.  This Michael Willis has called 2 times today.  No message.
