- Ronald in Washington DC| 6 repliesRobo caller identifies himself as "Steve Martin". NO company name or organization is identified. He says, "I am contacting you.", but never says my name, to inform me of, "An enforcement action executed by the US treasury." He then says, "Ignoring this will be an intentional 2nd attempt to avoid an initial appearance before a magistrate judge or grand jury concerning a federal criminal offense." He then says, "We would like to help you!" He then repeats the phone number 530-419-3432. The caller is a recording and speaks with a foreign accent and incorrect english phrasing. The call is from California. East coast I.R.S. or treasury issues would certainly be handled by a Washington, DC office or Philadelphia. The contact would be made by mail not robocall. I have no I.R.S. or Treasury problems. This is definitely a SCAM CALL.
- Caller: None given
- Mike replies to Ronald in Washington DC| 1 replyI got the same call stating they are from the Treasury Dept. This is definitely a SCAM CALL I to have no issues with the IRS or Treasury dept
- B. A. Davisfraudulent phone caller working a scam about outstanding Federal lawsuits.
- mjohns replies to Ronald in Washington DCI got the same call just now. Same message. There is a big tax center in Fresno, but it is State of CA. Orem Utah would be a likely source of a West Coast IRS contact if real. The IRS does not use robo-calling, and does use real names. The caller was almost certainly raised in India, and is therefore not really "Steve Martin" unless his parents were huge fans of the comedian "Steve Martin". Agree: SCAM.
- Will the REAL Steve Martin plz stand up replies to Ronald in Washington DCSCAM saying he is "Steve Martin" with a thick Indian or Pakistan accent--saying federal lawsuit blah blah blah but gives no name of who the call is directed to--sort of think the "US TREASURY" would handle such an important issue in a different way LOL! This Steve Martin-wanna-be is a total joke and by that I mean LOSER
- James Josephsame thing except the name. Smith Johnson.
- Caller: 530-419-3432
- Call type: Debt collector
- JC WilliamsMy caller ID said that the call was coming from Smith Johnson but the caller said his name was Steve Martin.
If the US Treasury Department wants to get in touch with me they'll have to do better than that! - d stowellall the same, but I actually called back. The voice was the same, but he said his name was Robert James. It was obvious he knew nothing about me. I told him I didn't believe he was from the us treasury, which pretty much ended the call. He said they would continue with the investigation. definitely Pakistani/Bangladeshi accent. And he called today, presidents day, a federal holiday. mm-hm.
- Caller: us treasury
- donlJust called an hour ago, on Presidents Day. All the exact same details as everyone else. I have no IRS issues. Sounds like SCAM.
- AnonymSame issue I just called back and he asked for my name then hung up. 530-419-3432. Except this time his name is Robert, Moite...
- looking for camel policehe is now Robert james and you screwed up your taxes in 2011 and you owe 7245,95. when I didn't sound concerned he quickly said he wasn't collecting money just telling me "there is a warrant for your arrest, your bank accounts have been seized, your drivers license revoked and you will not be allowed to work in us for next ten years!" lol
- Caller: us treasury dept
- Call type: Debt collector
- AnonymousJust got the same call, same Indian Steve Martin. Called him back to mess with him. Once I started questioning him with regards to his call, he hung up.
- Amused in GaAll the same info as above, Smith Johnson on caller ID, identifying self in robo call as Steve Martin, when I called back after hanging up on the robo call, as Robert James. He went through his spiel and I responded , "you are full of crap." He said, "Okay then you are going to jail." He then hung up on me. I filed a scam report with the Department of the Treasury, at www.titga.gov. I suggest everyone do that.
- Caller: Dept of Treasury (he said)
- m in annapolis md replies to Ronald in Washington DCI got the exact same message Steve Martin blah blah !! Def a scam , these people like to prey on ederly etc... very sad. I do not even answer my phone unless I know the number. This guy def sounded middle eastern possibly.
- notgiven replies to MikeI think I'd forward that one to my BIL, the 30+ year US Treasury agent.
- not amusedCalled just now. Caller ID showed Smith Johnson. 530-419-3432. Said his name was Steve Martin at the U.S. Treasury.
Same as above complaints. I did not call back as this was an obvious scam. I have no problems with IRS or Treasury Dept.- Caller: Smith Johnson
- Call type: Debt collector
- Jane in Portland, OR replies to Ronald in Washington DCI received the same call from 503-419-3432 yesterday. The man identified himself as Steve Martin and threatened that I had ignored a summons to appear before a magistrate for some nebulous federal crime. Very strong British/Indian? accent. I did not call back, although I was strongly tempted to, just for the entertainment of harassing him.
- Ken2/20/2015 = I got the same robocall from a clown with a strange accent, an annoying scam.
ken- Caller: scam, inc.
- Call type: Prank
- BallardSteve Martin threatened me with similar bravado. Love 800notes to find out that others are tormented by these bacteria. Blocked the caller. Wish the phone carriers would do something to stop these types of scams.
- Caller: Out of area. 530-419-3432
- Call type: Debt collector
- Billsteve martin has left the same threatening messages on my answering machine. I guess whatever country he is from doesn't have due process and they take innocent people to jail on false charges.
