We received a voice message from this telephone number. It says it is a Hot Line & is urgent to return call.  We do not do any business associated with this number. Donor know if I should return the call or if it will be a scam.

I received a voicemail from this number and they told me the IRS was suing me.  When I asked what company he works for, he said he didn't remember.  This is a scam.

My call from 530-436-5999 (Grenda, CA) went to voice mail. Here is the message that was left:

"Nicky Johnson from internal revenue service and the hotline to my division is 530-436-5999 I repeat it's 530-436-5999. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you goodbye and take care."

I like the threat, followed by "take care."

Received a call from this number with a voicemail similar to what is described above.  When I called back the "gentleman" asked for my number and when I gave it to him he stated that this number was not in his records.  When I asked why they called me he then said we didn't call you you son of a b and hung up.  I called back and demanded to speak with his supervisor and he then called me a stupid mf'er and told me to suck it.  Needless to say, I highly doubt this is any sort of legitimate call.

Indian or Pakistani IRS scammers.  They get really upset if you ask for a supervisor.  There is no supervisor, they are all in the criminal stew together.

Yeah.  I think they get a rush from people making those demands.

If they can't get your identification or money pretty quickly, the next best thing to them is your asking them to 'take me off your list' or demanding to 'speak to your supervisor.'  They love it!  It 'proves' to them that you're a 'stupid American,' and it gives them a chance to unleash insults and threats, which gives their reptilian brains a type of hormonal thrill, then they all have another big emotional release when they laugh out loud at you after hanging up on you.

No, I wouldn't try to engage a caller like this.  Just hangup and maybe block the number

It is a scam. Check with the IRS web site.  File a complaint with the IRS. DO NOT RETURN THE CALL.  DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THIS BUNCO RING.

I have filed complaints with the IRS every time I got one of these calls. I just realized that I was wasting my time. The IRS is far too busy investigating organizations with names that contain such subversive words a "liberty", "freedom","responsibility", "independence" to bother with criminal scams.
