Recorded message selling GE home security systems.  Caller ID shows "Auburn CA".  Not buying anything from the corrupt GE company.

Call received 3:21pm on 4/24/2015. Did not answer. No message on answering machine

the call id said URG.

Didn't answer call, it went to voicemail.
CID said "URG".Phone number 530-488-7026. Recording said:
'Due to an increase in criminal activity in your area, GE SECURITY is paying for 5 houses to receive a new ON STAR home protection package installed at no cost to you. To qualify, you must be willing to place a small solar security sign in your front yard. This sign helps promote new technology in your neighborhood.
Press 1 if you’re willing to put a small (pause) sign in your front yard.
Press 2 to place you on our do not call list.”

Called 5 min ago. Caller id: URG

Called our landline 5:58 p.m. PST 4/28/15.  We didn't answer and they did not leave message.

Technically?  This is a solicitation call {assuming it's legitimate, which it may be--but could as easily be a scam}.
Companies offering free 'promotional' service try to get around the 'do not call' registry by offering 'free' goods, installations and services.  However, as any security service IS eventually seeking to sell you their service after the 'free installation' trial period, this IS a solicitation however indirect.

Whether they really are affiliated with General Electric or 'G.E.' actually stands for something else, but that's what they hope you'll assume?  I'm curious as to whether anyone who's actually opted to hear their sales-pitch out would post what they've heard.

Called and hung up when I answered.

My phone number is on the do not call registry.  I do NOT want telemarketing calls.  Upon research this is GE Home Security, not someone we do business with nor do we want calls from.

This number concurrently called my home and cell phones! Let it ring, left a message on neither!

ID shows "URG".  No message left.  Now blocked.  BEWARE:  Google search of URG does result in sites dealing with energy stocks, but no direct link to GE.  It also showed a collection agency, United Recovery Group.  Some bad stories about their collection methods can be found on the web.

This number called my cell. I didn't answer. They left no message. Caller ID only showed "California."

Received a call on my cell and they left no message.  The ID said California and that was all. My number is on the national do not call registry.

Turn off your caller ID and then call them every time you don't have anything pressing to do and tell them that you're just calling to f**k with them because you can. Every minute of their time you take is another phone call from them that you've delayed or prevented.

To be honest I would SO love to take a baseball bat to the knees of these subhuman turds.
