- Not Falling For It| 3 repliesI received a call from this number but didn't answer. They left a voicemail with an automated message advising me that it was my final notice from the IRS that they are filing a lawsuit against me. Through research I have learned that this is a scam. I wasn't falling for it to begin with but I'm sure some people will. The IRS has a 1-800 number to contact them, do not call this or any other numbers back unless you have researched and determined it is a legitimate number.

I reported to IRS. - Concerned Citizen| 1 replyI received a automated call from 540-242-1076 and a voice mail message stating I was being sued by the IRS. I checked this site and the IRS website to be sure. I returned the call knowing it was a scam and was greeted by "Officer Jay Karner" of the IRS (officer Karner had thick Indian accent). I asked for additional credentials and he promptly hung up. I actually placed several more calls attempting to get more information and the calls suddenly dropped each time. I was greeted by three different "IRS agents", two male, one female. They seemed to have taken the phone off the hook at one time to prevent my calls. Obviously an illicit operation.

Obvious scam. I didn't call the number, but I did report it to the IRS (phishing@irs.gov) and to the FTC's Consumer Protection division (877-382-4357), as well as to my state Attorney General's office.- Caller: IRS Impersonator
