calling early morning on weekend, no message

no message, around 4:15 pm

I received a call from this number 3 times in the past 2 days. I just had my phone turned on 11/9/2007 for my business. I cant beleive im already getting these type of phone calls. :( Its sad when you pay money every month for people to ask you for more money. Oh well this is America, just wait until 10 years down the line. Ha Ha. Well dont know what good this does but thought I would let you know. Have a good day.

Recording on answering machine was left at 8:43am today - mostly an electronic hum together with a breathing-like sound for about 7 seconds, then caller hung up.  Caller ID says "unavailable".

picked up the phone, and it was like i was hearing myself say everything through the phone...like if you were to talk into a portable phone, and listen to yourself through the speaker-phone base.

No one answered

I receive calls from this number all the time, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. I have a private unlisted phone number, which I pay the phone call extra for every month. I wonder how they got my phone number.

Luckily, I have caller ID, so I just remember NOT TO ANSWER the phone.

Thank you for your information, Now that I have memorized the number, I don't answer the phone. I wonder how I could get them to STOP calling?

Almost every day, starting around 8am or before and multiple times during the day. Says "Out of Area" and when you answer there are strange sounds, beeps and sounds like someone is on the line, but says nothing. Stays on the line until we hang up.  I, too, have an unlisted/unpublished number which I pay extra for on my phone bill!

Is this really the Fraternal Order of Police?  That's what the telemarketer said.

Called while I was indisposed. Left a message that sounded like someone breathing for a few seconds. I've been on the National DNC list since it was announced. Sadly, I believe some kinds of non-profit organizations and political groups get to ignore the DNC list, so chances are we're all stuck listening to their soliciting.

They called me today and said it was the Fraternal order of Police and that 2 months ago I agreed to make a very large donation and they have yet to receive my donation.  I told them that no one called me 2 months ago, I never received any paperwork and I never agreed to make a large donation.  He said ok and hung up.  I thought it seemed kinda fishy.

Called 11/15 around 7:30pm.   Asked for my husband by first name - Bill not William as is listed in the phone directory.  I said he wasn't home, so they said thank you and hung up.

I just got a call from this number. I didn't answer, and the caller did not leave a message. Really ticks me off, since we've been on the Do Not Call registry for years.

These people call three times a day and hang up. I'm sick of it. I'm on the do not call list, but evidently that doesn't work.

Got a call from 540-318-7335 claiming to be "Ron Barrow" from the Fraternal Order of Police.  Wanted personal information.  Obviously, I didn't give him the info.  My number is unlisted and I am on the Do Not Call Registry.  They have called several times a day for weeks now.  Luckily, I'm not usually home.  It was out of curiousity that I finally answered the phone this past Saturday.  Had to say hello twice so I knoew this call was not on the up and up.

I'm in a 804 area code and they are calling me..WTH????  As a police officer I hate these calls, especially when they claim to be the FOP. The National FOP does farm out it's telemarketing to other firms...usually they pick decent ones, BUT if these people want personal information don't give it to them!!! Actually tell them you would love to give a donation but being that it is rather hefty you need a call back number to contact them. Then take that number and report it to your local police organization or the State Police (since it seems they are calling all over VA and god knows where).  I am now waiting for them to call back. I work midnights and for 2 mornings now this number came in at 9 am.
The loophole for charities ticks me off too. If I wanted to be called I WOULD NOT BE ON A DO NOT CALL LIST!! Not to mention paying for an unlisted number and still getting this stuff.
Also DO NOT give your phone number to clerks at stores...why companies ask for this is puzzling, but they do sell it.... no matter what the clerk says. I usually say I don't have a phone.
