Number on cell phone. I don't answer any calls when I don't know the number and especially if out of my area code. If they want me they can leave a message...Never do. Figure it's a scam like the ones that always call my home phone which I also don't answer unless they tell me who they are.  So tired of this crap... On "DO NOT CALL" list and obviously that dosen't work sure hope someone is not getting paid to run that.

got robocall on from 540-547-1270 caller ID said "VIRGINIA" on Wednesday 02-26-14 @ 1111 AM

Message started out "Hello, This is Denise Miller from Card Services.......blah...blah......press 1 to talk to Customer Service or 2 to be removed from our list". Pressed 1 and the phone started ringing (don notknow if they were forwarding to another line or just within their SCAMMING location. Female came on the line and asked me "Are You responding to lowering your Interest"? I said, "Yes, I am." I then immediately started blowing the "SCAMMER HORN". The gal was gone lickety-split.

    Same old same old...

One of hundreds (perhaps thousands) of scam companies, which first you hear a recording (usually woman's voice, identifying herself as "Denise Miller"") stating you were "selected" because of your "excellent record" to receive a service...i.e., arrangement to reduce your credit card interest rate.

You are given an option to press "1" to put through to a live agent or another number to be put on a Do Not Call List (which is ineffective and useless, because they will just call back again from a different number).

By pressing 1.. you get a "kid" on the line who may or may not identify himself/herself and then proceed to ask questions...completely ignoring the basic questions such as asking for my name (to verify I'm the person they are INTENDING to reach)... because, guess what?   They don't care!  You see.. they got YOUR phone number based on a LIST of phone numbers they purchased ... of people who have high balances on their credit cards or have high interest rates... or... simply people who have credit cards period!

They are pitching a means to lower your ostensibly high rates.. and they ask you silly questions, which, if they were legit, they would ALREADY know the answer to... after all, they claim I was selected, right?

Of course, this is all bogus.. and they are merely "fishing," but that doesn't matter to these scamsters.

If you ask ANY basic question, such as "What's the name of your company?", they will either give you a nondescript BS name OR they will simply hang up.   If you ask if their company has a website... they WILL hang up, because then they realize they're probably not going to get anything from you.

What I do.... is play along with these A...holes and pretend to be interested and keep them on line as long as possible...for example, I'll say "Could you hold as I go look for my wallet, as the credit card is in there?"  and then I'll go make a cup of coffee or a sandwich or take a dump and come back and, IF they are still there, I'll "apologize" for the delay and then ask them again what they wanted...and ask them to wait a little longer.   I'll continue to play along, giving them fake info ...names of nonexistent banks and phony numbers and essentially WASTE their time...tying up at least one of their lines and in the process causing this bogus company money to pay these minimum wage earning callers (paid by the hour) for doing NOTHING but going down a blind alley.

Eventually, I "come clean" with a scathing tirade against these jerks  in which I tell them what I "think" of their company, and I go so far as to threaten them with my going postal and if I ever discover where they're located, I will wreak havoc on the premises.. and then add... PLEASE notify the police about my threats... because I would LOVE to be arrested and afforded the RIGHT to confront my accusers.... however, "You [***] aren't going to do a damned thing... because calling the authorities is the LAST thing you want"

At other times... I simply ignore these kinds of calls.   later placing the numbers on my personal blocker.

got robocall on from 540-547-1270 caller ID said "VIRGINIA" on Thursday 03-06-14 @ 942 AM.
I saw the familiar Card Services number from Virginia and let the phone ring. After 6 rings it quit.

About half a minutes or so later the same number called @ 943 AM.
Let it ring 5 times then picked up BUT I did not talk.
After 2+minutes they finally disconnected the call.

I try to keep them on the line for as long as possible.  Sometimes I tell them I am disabled and it will take me several minutes to go get my wallet with my credit cards in it.  Then I put the phone next to my computer speakers and find some porn videos for them to listen too.

"Why can't they be tracked and shut down?"

That's VERY difficult since they do caller ID spoofing and the calls may be routed through the internet across servers in multiple countries.

scam places would not be in business if no one fell for there line of crap !
there should be real laws to stop them from even trying to do business .
    but sadly there isn't !
so there is nothing we can do about them !
all I do now is just pick up and then hang right back up with out saying any thing .
if the voice message picks up I still have to listen to there line of crap most of the time .

Nicely done.  Admirable.  However this plan wastes some of your time.  Good if the satisfaction you receive is worth it.  We should create our fun wherever we find it.

I am going to file a complaint with the FCC.  Have you done the same?  Nothing much happens but I could haul these con artists to local court and sue them for up to $1,500.  Have read how some people have done so with success.  Anyway, the complaint by itself (the form is easy to complete as long as you have the dates, times etc of the annoying calls you received [caller ID helps]}  Use the feds to stop them

I have received several calls from this number.  As a policy, I never answer a call that has no identifiable ID.  Let it ring; let them hang up.  Then,  I return their call.  Whenever i get the recorded message that
"the number you dialed is not in service,"  I report that info to the FCC.  Usually (miraculously) those calls stop soon after that filing.

"Rachel at Cardholder Services" or "Denise Miller from card services" SCAM again. These criminals have been doing this for years, and are literally LAUGHING at the government that is powerless to stop them.
After hundreds of attempts to get them to stop calling me and useless attempts to call back their fake caller ID number I decided to hurt them in the only way I can...
    WASTE THEIR TIME!

I keep them on the line and make them think they have a big fish ($7800 in debt at 21%), I make them wait for me to get my cards, find my expiration date, then look up my interest rate etc. I literally will tell them I will go get it then sit the phone down while I make a sandwich, then I come back and give them the first 8 numbers of my real Credit card then make up some fake numbers for the rest, then I actually argue with them that it's real if they say that's not my card. HAHA! What are these scum going to do? Report me??!!  to WHO!!  Oh PLEASE DO a***oles! PLEASE report me!
after I play with them as long as I think I can, I tell them to F*** off and rip them a new one as long as they stay on the phone.
    I LOVE IT!
I get a little of my frustration out AND I waste these criminals time!

A person could REALLY freak them out if they just randomly said something like "What?? You say you're going to nuke the white house?" or  "You're on a JIHAD??" or "You have a dirty bomb?" They'll hang up pretty quick with a load of s*** in their pants!

I seriously think if an NSA drone dropped a smart bomb on their call center the WHOLE WORLD would stand up and cheer!
