said i won a 100$gift card to walmart and a discount card, but needed my name and 5$ sent to them. couldnt tell me how i won it said maybe from makeing a purchasde but that wouldnt give them my number???

Know what I LOVE about this scam? They can 'GIVE' you a $100.00 gift card, but can't afford to send it to you. Just love it! I would say mostly because it's so obvious. Never give money to get money. It's always an advance fee scam, or scam to get credit card, banking, details.

Glad I didn't answer - in US, so should be able to find out who is pulling this scam!

I picked it up since I share the same area code with the number thinking it was a friend and nothing was said. They just hung up after the second hello

Received call from 541-275-0694 and I am on the national do not call registry! How do they keep getting access to my cell phone info?

I havent answered because for some reason it doesnt ring, just goes straight to missed call. But they have called at very random hours and never leave a message. Is there any way to keep my cell number off these lists???

When I get one of these, I immediately add it to a contact for scammers that never rings.

My cell rang a couple times and then stopped.  Glad I didn't pick up.

I missed a call today from 541-275-0964.  They didn't leave a msg.  Was tempted to call them back to see who they were, but searched online and found this sight.  Now I'm REALLY  tempted to call them and tell them to lose my number!

I live in the 541 area code so i assumed it was someone i knew.. but when i saw where the call came in from, i knew it had to be a scam... I have never been where it came in from Nor do i ever have any plans to do so.. So i figured it had to be a scam! Thank god for this site and all you people saying you had the same number call you

I received a phone call from this number this morning. I went to answer it, and they hung up. I was tempted to return the call, as our house is on the market and sometimes we get calls from unrecognized numbers, but now seeing this, I'm glad I didnt answer

Calling from my local area code. Never heard of the prefix. Looked it up and came across this site, glad I did was thinking about calling them back. I asked a friend about it and he is with local law enforcement, checked it out, found out it's a number from VONAGE PHONE SYSTEM, WERE PPL CAN CHOOSE THEIR OWN NUMBERS. VONAGE IS OWNED BY A CORPORATIONS OUT OF BRITISH COLUMBIA WERE THEY BYPASS THE NATIONAL CALL REGISTRY. THESE SCAMMERS ARE GETTING SMARTER USING THESE PHONE COMPANIES WATCH OUT!!!

Received a missed call from this number and I am glad I didn't answer it. Thanks for these types of forums.

They are still at it.  Fortunately, I NEVER answer my cell phone.  It is a policy brought on by my first purchase recently.  Immediately after purchasing the phone, I began getting calls, yet not one person was given the number.  Still this day, every call in is bogus.  Thank You for this site !

I got a call from this number on my cell but it went to missed call almost immediately after ringing which makes me wonder how stupid can these scammers be?  Doesn't that limit their chances?  Glad I checked this site first as I am from the same area code and wondered if it was someone from work or something.
