they call up o 10 times daily at times to offer us accounting services. We have told them we have our own CPA but they continue to call, even when asked not to call us again.

My employee received a call from these people while I was out. Stated it was a tax issue and wanted my information. The employee used his head and stated that the owner was not here and they could leave a message. They continued to ask for the info and my employee said have a good a day and hung up.

They call back and said are you going to hang up on me again? My employee stated that he was not going to give out any info and then they hung up.

I'm curious as to why company's like this think they can call and badger people into giving them info they have no right to know?

I stopped his tax spiel at the first phrase by saying "Sorry, we don't pay taxes." That made him lose his train of thought and I hung up.
The jerk called me back 15 times in the next 5 minutes.
Don't bother me, I just let him hang in dead air.
Then one time I answered with "They won't pay you. They're scamming you, not me. No more calls.

I think the guy in question is mentally [***], had difficulty talking, repeated words, etc. I would have been sympathetic, but then he got into a riff with deeply biased overtones and I hung up. Got several more call backs right in a row where he shouted something, hung up and called again. How do those people get put in jobs they can't deal with?

For the last two month this company and its agaents have been calling about a "tax matter" but my business has not tax problems.  This has been explained many times, each time they say my number would be removed, but it never is.  This time I called them back and spoke with a Mr. Mike Zacha, if he gave me the correct name.  He said he is the owner and that he would personally remove me from further calls.  I will be following this conversation up with a letter under the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act to place Mr. Zacha on notice to cease and disist for further contact or I would be filing suit under the Federal Act for harrassment and monetary damages.

They called 10 times in 5 minutes, even when I hung up on them and told them to mind their own business.  I was told my business is their business.  do they think they will get my business with this type of tactic

This jerk called me regarding some state tax info. I told him to not call back and hung up. He called me a total of 3 times. "Fortress Financial" is trying to help me with state tax issues. If the state has problems with my business it will contact me directly. He was a real jerk.

Received a call from Fortress Financial wanting to discuss an IRS tax lien.  I told him there was no lein.  He asked if I was the owner and I said "yes". Then he asked if maybe I had state or personal tax issues, and again I replied "no".  He said "sorry - must have gotten the wrong contact info" and hung up.  This looks like a company just fishing for clients by pretending to know something about your situation.

Best thing to do file a complaint with the FCC via https://www.donotcall.gov while you are there register your number on the national do not call list. good luck. Place keeps calling me as well, very unprofessional Operation and Rude. We've already delt with our problem and they won't get the hint. That place employs Pretentious Judgemental Losers.

these people are jerks and harrassed me.  I told them the first time i did not need their "help" and they got upset at me for being rude.  I called the number back and asked politely to speak with a supervisor and he then hung up on me.  These people should be reported.

Been getting calls from a "Cody" with "Fortress Financial" regarding a tax issue. He has been calling several times a week for the last couple weeks. Won't take my word for it that we have no need for their services since I am not the owner of the company or handle the taxes, however, I KNOW for a fact we do not need their services. The last time they called I asked to removed from their list and Cody would not comply so I asked for a supervisor. The "supervisor" said they do not have a "do not call list" and will keep calling to talk to the owner or person who handles the taxes. These jerks are unbelievable and completely out of their minds if they think these tactics will get them business. They are wasting their time. The supervisor even had the nerve to say "talk to you tomorrow"! This is flat out harassment and I will file complaints against them any way I can.

i went through all of the above, got a hold of Sam Grippi, the floor manager of the 14 callers in the call center. he evaded all of my questions and gave me his personal extension. 877-777-7430 ext. 884

he kept asking for the name of the finance manager or owner. i wouldnt tell him. he didnt like that too much.

I had to deal with Sam Grippi as well, he seems to be the worst of them. I called the number back and asked to speak with someone ELSE... at which point the new person did remove me from their "list".

I threatened to report them to the BBB if they call again. (they have the BBB seal on their website.)

6-15-09  TIME FOR A CHANGE IN THE LAWS.  Called and hung up on my business answering machine.  Am on Do Not Call. Here is a list of 189 numbers that I accumulated since May, 2008.  Most call numerous times for months and some call several times per day so the list represents THOUSANDS of calls.  I will not buy something or do something because someone called. First of all, too many scams.  Second, I am aggravated   and not buying feels good.  Third, if I want something, I shop for it on the Internet and in the newspapers. There is a slim chance that anyone calls with an offer for something I actually need.  I tried everything before I started printing the numbers. Answering and asking to be takend off the list, etc.  Now the list is by the phone and a quick glance tells me not to answer.  Saves time.  It is time to CHANGE THE LAW.  If the telemarketing industry can't stop the abuse, then it is time to severely trim the industry or stop it.  I do not want onc single call by a telemarketer and I get THOUSANDS per year. They tie my phone up and clog my voice mail with recorded messages or hang up clicks.  CHANGE THE LAWS AND STOP THE CALLS. Telemarketers, don't write to this site and tell me about jobs.  Lots of people make money selling deadly drugs to children in school yards.  Should we allow it because they make money? Same with you.

Calls about once every other week. Leaves a voicemail, has "good news regarding a tax matter of" ours.

I just delete the VM and let it go. Sounds like everyone else is getting some psycho [***] at this company. Only ones that bug us are direct, leave a VM, and apparently know when to leave well enough alone.

8-25-09 See my 6-19-09 rant above.  My list is over 200 numbers now. Answered a call from a "Wes" that asked for a James, which is not my name.  To make a long story short, he wouldn't answer my questions about why he was calling and kept asking me if I was the owner, which I was not about to tell him until he answered my questions.  He was amazed when I told him that I do not answer questions just because people call me, that I ask the questions.  When he would not explain enough, I told him I would hang up and did so. He called back six times, demanding to know if I was the owner.  It is just amazing that this company thinks this is the way to sell me a service.  It boggles the mind.

I work in a small company also, this man keeps calling asking for the owner. I told him one day she wasnt here and didnt know when she would be here, then he said I'll just call back in 5 mins, I told him that wouldnt do him any good b/c she wouldnt be here in 5 min, then he said well I thought you said you didnt know when she would be there, I told I didnt know when was would be in but I do know it wouldnt be 5 mins from then b/c I knew it wasnt time for her to come in. Then he calls back 10 times in a row. Well a few days later he calls I didnt answer then he calls again I answered b/c I wanted his name and who he works for. So I answered he asked for the owner I said whos calling he said BEN STINE and I said From he said from FORTRESS, I told him she wouldnt be in today so he said I'll call back in 5 mins I then said SHE WILL NOT BE IN A ALL TODAY then hung up he called 10times in a row and then from and unknown name and number. You would think he would take a hint....STOP CALLING WE DONT WANT YOUR HELP IF THATS WHAT YOU THINK YOUR DOING!!!!!!

They call every day to speak to the owner they even somehow know his name. the first time they said it was a tax matter so this is a pretty big company i thought maybe it was somebody important so i said oh no that would be so and so that you would need to speak with. big mistake now they ask for the owner or the accountant. I even returned calling them and telling the man who has been calling that we have a cpa and to remove us from the list he said ok thanks and then low and behold the next day i get a call again. If i call the 1877 number it costs them money? ill call all the time if thats the case im trying to do stuff and keep getting interupted its annoying.
