I got a call from these people; the Caller ID said "Riddle" where the name goes. I let the machine get it, & they just hung up without leaving a message.

How can I get this number to stop calling me?  I went to DO NOT CALL REGISTRY but it informs me I cannot enter any more numbers.  Does anyone know how to deleter very old numbers from the DO NOT CALL Registry?  I went to FTC website but could find no instructions to do so.

They call every day, Tried to return call, to ask them to stop. But they said no longer in service.

Received same type of call!  Wonder if it is a scam of sorts.

This is some sort of company that wants to clean dryer vents. It is a cold call recording. (And I'm on the do not call list... uh oh...). The recording says "press 8 to be removed from the list." I got news for you.
That's not how it works. You are NOT supposed to call me in the first place...

Get your Carpets cleaned telemarketing spam.  I am on the do not call list and they just ignored it.

Received their call to our 'do not call' number.   Had the opportunity to press a button to arrange service.   Elected to ignore it.   Why would I think to take on an area code 541 in my 978 area?   Forget it.

I called the number in my phone's history. They said they are from Carpet Care. When I pressed 1 to "make an appt" I told the woman who answered that I was on the Do Not Call list, and in spite of that, they called three times this week and left msgs on my machine. She promptly hung up on me. : O )

DITTO: I was suckered into pressing *69 out of curiousity. One call this morning at 9 AM and one this after noon at 4:52 PM.   Why do they call and then hang up ? The world just keeps getting creepier and creepier. The motive seems to be an attempt to make people use their *69 function on the telephone and get charged 75 cents for the DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE. I guess it has to be associated with the people who charge the 75 cents for directory assistance because it could be stopped with a minimal amount of effort. The people with the computer auto dialer must get enough commission from the harassment to make it worth their while.  OINK, OINK !!  Squeal like a pig?

and she said "Enzon Pharmaceuticals, Bridgewater New Jersey" leave your # we will return call.
I researched the company name and found  they are doing research in the cancer curing field.Smartzies they are because the real local exchange for their phones is 541. And just before I received the call I had Been researching Medical Info About Cancer. So you figure if one puts 2+2 together what do you
get?  I'll let you decide 4 yourself about my privacy and your privacy from potential snoopers while one is on the net or one's own phones.

Riddle me this Batman, These out of area and odd area code telemarketing numbers are and can be purchased from telecommunication companies (AT&T Verizon Etc) in lots. They are old unused numbers that are kept for testing purposes. Since they are not registered (out of service) you cant call them back.You can report them to The Natl DNC system but they cant track them either. (TOO MANY)   So bottom line if you dont recognize , DO NOT PICK UP .......................RIDDLE is a Carpet Cleaning Company with Various named Franchises throughout the Telemarketing areas  Hope this helps

This one  ID's as "Oregon Call".  It's a carpet cleaning blind-calling shtick.  Nothing could be more illegal.  I pressed one at the conclusion to get transferred to somewhere where they could "schedule a cleaning".

I asked they not call again. Surprise of surprises the person on the other end didn't hang-up, they said "No problem", and then likely did nothing.  I get this call every 3-6 months for years.
