They called claiming I owe money, which is fine because I can just ignore them. But they had the nerve to call one of my friends who had just gotten out of the hospital asking him if he could lend me money to pay off the debt! Now what kind of crap is that? They didn't bother me until they did that. It's going way too far! Don't these people have any morals?

My husband and I continue to get frequent and random calls from the number 541-956-8822, and I know that Capital One is real big on this or has at least been linked to scams like this....even if you are a customer in good standing. If you have ever been behind with them or go over a limit..this is what they do. The caller will leave a generic voice message that cuts off halfway through..... They usually say, "Hey ______, this is Mark. Can you call back when you get a sec..." then it cuts off - NEVER leaving a number to call back and if I answer, there is a dead line. (they are clever ...if the computer caller gets what it detects as a female out-going message, they leave a male voice, if male out-going, then a female voice will activate.... oh so clever to try to interfer with your life!

They call at all hours and on ANY day illegal or not. We have no idea how they got our information, especailly since our cell phones are in no way even remotely related to our personal information. They are not in our names!! So, thats just an interesting side note. And YES....It is ILLEGAL for these CREEPS (and thats being nice) to call on Sundays, holidays, or after 9pm central standard time on a weekday, but THIS number's owner apparently doesn't care, they feel they are "above the law", becasue they do call at illegal times. It is rude and totally uncalled for. I am trying to get more information so, as a protected state employee working within the Probation and Parole System I can obtain a harassment/order of protection agaisnt them for me and anyone else who is being harassed!

Keep the info coming, fight back!! Don't be bullied, even if you DO owe debt collectors, and who hasn't at one point... you STILL HAVE RIGHTS!!

Rec'd a call from this number saying that they needed to reach a neighbor of mine.  They said that her number was disconnected.  I do not know the neighbor in which they were looking for.  I could hear in the background and asked if they were a collection company in which they said they could not divulge that information.  What???? your calling my house and cant tell me who you are or why you need me to pass a note to someone I do not know.  I do not appreciate someone else's collection company calling me. This is ridiculous and is a form of harassment.  I am going to see what I can to to report them.

So it sounds like this company is a big crock like most debt collectors who "cannot provide who they are or what they want".  Nice to know and I have noted never to answer this number again.  Thanks!

They have also tried contacting me at work.  Isn't that prohibited somehow or against the law?  Sounds like they are an honest organization only looking to do the right thing (sarcasm).

Oh well ... Karma will get back at them.

So I got a call from these people too. They said they were looking for someone that happened to have the same last name as I do. They said they knew this lady in Texas (well this company is not in Texas it is in Oregon because area code (541) is Oregon. Anyway I said that I didn't know that lady and that was it.
When I got off I was thinking that was really weird so I called back to see what DCS, Inc. was. The lady answered "DCS, Inc." I said "yes what do you He me earlier. I asked him how he had my info and he told me a phone directory. I kept asking him what DCS specializes in but he never answered my question. He said he worked in the call center and his job was to call people.
I went to their website www.dcswins.com and it says they are a collections agency. I just think these people will say or lie about anything to find the person that owns money...what losers!!

They called at night and wanted to know a neighbors number, when we kept questioneing them they hung up,  They were very rude.  I don't appreciate being put into the neighbors financial problems.

Called my house 1/25/08 at 4:08 PM. No idea who they are.

I received three calls from this number in the last 5 minutes. A woman would not identify herself, did not say her company name and the purpose of the call. After I hung up, a man called with the same questions but was asking for a different person.

I submitted the information to the Federal Communication Commission.

This is a first. This is DCS, a collection comapny. They had my account from a debt I had from the Army. I informed the man that I had paperwork proving that over 80% of the $7,000 debt was not valid, and needed to send that paperwork in to him. I told him to call me that Monday, or I would call him so I could send the paperwork to him for investigation into the validity of the debt.

I called him for over 3 weeks and he would not answer or return my calls. I became the harraser to a creditor!!! I went back to the Army and told them about my problems with the collection agency, they wouldn't call me back or accept my paperwork. The Army took my paperwork and voided the majority of the debt, and requested to take my case back so I could pay them directly since I had no luck with them, and filed a complaint. Their answer to the complaint was that I had lied and never contacted or attempted contact. I then gave the Army my cell phone bills showing I had 19 outgoing calls to them in 3 weeks, and there were 0 incoming calls from them!

They received the request to send my file back to the Army yesterday. Today, the collection agency called me for the first time since they obtained my file almost 2 months ago!!!

On the one and only converstaion I had with them, he threatened to offset my taxes, and put liens on my personal property such as my car  and house, and garnish my wages! He was very rude and told me that they would keep inflating the charges until the debt was out of control. Once I told him I could prove the debt was under $1000, he stopped talking to me entirely!
