I agree!! When it comes down to it if you would pay your bills and grow up you would not be getting these calls! You took advantage of an education now it is time to pay for it whether you are using it or working at Burger King! Calling references, neighbors, same names etc is not illegal. If it is a wrong# just say so, end of story. You all make it sound like they asked to take your 1st born or something. It is just a freakin phone, it can't bite you! But your past due student loan can. Deal with it and pay it!! If someone used you as a reference give up their info, they gave up yours.

First off, I'm tired of those people talking about grow up and pay your debt. I have been paying everything off on time. Yet I get a call from these people, threatening wage garnishment for defaulted student loans. about $9000 worth. I called Sallie Mae and the US Dept of ED. Both said that nothing was sold or defaulted. Everything is current. Be very careful before agree to pay anything with these people.

they called today, i feel like i've recieved calls from a number like this in the past. i never answer to numbers i dont know.. unless they leave a message, in which this number never does. i called back today and when the lady answered she asked whom i needed to talk to. I said somebody from this number keeps calling, and i want to know why. She said it was probably the "wrong number" and if it was important they would call back. i'm only seventeen what f#c*ing bills are they wanting from me?!

A woman named Renee Adams called me was very rude and would not tell me why they were looking for my father.  Not even 5 mins later another call from yet again DCS.  They are rude and very shady company.  I called back and was rude right back telling them they have no right calling me after I told them I dont know where he is.

For those thinking there's a link between Verizon and DCS - there's not.  I have AT&T/Cingular and they call me regularly over a debt that isn't mine.  I worked in the Legal Department at a phone company until I became disabled, and trust me when I say that they can subpoena the phone companies, including cell phone companies, for your personal information and the comapany (or companies, they will phish around with all them until your info turns up) has to comply.  Being on the do-not-call list does not protect you from them simply because that list is for telemarketing calls, not collection calls.  All you can do is what has already been suggested:  1)  Send a cease and desist letter CERTIFIED MAIL (for proof they received it if anything) and/or 2) file complaints with the BBB, your state's Attorney General's Office, and the Federal Trade Commission.  I would suggest the latter after you do #1 and wait a reasonable time for a return letter from DCS acknowledging your request.

I got several phone calls from this company.  They are trying to collect on a fraudulent scam that was being run by a company called;  Construct Data Publishers   Verlag GMBH

Construct Data Publishers running the scam is operated by Wolfgang Valvoda.

Construct Data Publishers was soliciting members of a IAAPA and offering the members what appeared to be a free advertisement in their  FAIR Guide.

Tthe fraudulent nature of the material being sent to IAAPA members is in violation of  United States law.
IAAPA has received numerous complaints from members and exhibitors regarding the material sent from the corporation regarding the FAIR Guide.  

Although the information contained in the marketing communication appears to solicit information for free listing in a guide for fairs and exhibitions, it appears that the document is actually a three-year contract for
the purchase of advertising space.  

In fact, upon signing and returning your correspondence, one IAAPA member was subsequently invoiced over $900.00 for an advertisement in FAIR Guide he had no intention of purchasing.  Accordingly, Construct Data is using fraudulent tactics to deceive IAAPA members and others into entering unwanted contract obligations.

Construct Data Publishers was taken to the German court system and a judgement was rendered against them.  That judgement can be seen at the following link.

Our company will be taking actions to hold the fraudulent company - Construct Data Publishers accountable.  We have advised the IAAPA membership council, U.S. Ambassador to Austria, Austrian government officials, Austrian Advertising Council, European Advertising Council.


Construct Data Publishers must be held accountable for their fraudulent actions.  This is a just another from of stealing from those who are working hard to make their companies successful.

This number called me Saturday morning on my cell. They didn't leave a message but did page me on my phone with 325-244-6578. I looked the number up because I didn't recognize it as anyone I knew and found this site. If it is a collection agency for defaulted student loans, it can't be me. I've been paying all of my student loans on time every month for over a year and a half now and all of them show as current and in good standing on my credit report.

This person called,  I got the impression she was looking for an old friend.  She asked for a "Jamal somethingorother" She implied that she got my phone number from my address.....(I live in an apartment building---lots of ppl with that address)  

I called back,  found out it was a credit place,  and said I didn't want to be disturbed again.  They said "Laura Oak" called me,  and connected me to her.  I told her she had gotten the wrong number and not to call again, and she hung up on me as a response.  When I tried to call back there was no answer.

This is the second call I have received from the above number.  I asked who the company was and a woman told me it was a collection agency for student loans, of which I have none.  Then she looked up my number and said she had no record for that number..She transfered me to another person that confirmed they must have an incorrect number.  He wouldn't tell me the company he was with or what type of business they were in.  I told him the lady that transferred me had told me it was a collection agency....he asked who told me that..apparently they aren't suppose to give out that information.

I received a call from this number because I have the same last name as the person they are trying to reach.  I also found that some of my other family members received a call.  Maybe they should actually obtain the correct number instead of going through the phone book or online with anyone with the same last name

Received a call wanting to talk to my daughter.  Very sarcastic woaman called then hung-up.
