What is that#? When one tries to call back... the message "Unknown Reason"
pops up... in the phone screen and no rings

Spanish person call me asking if I wanted to sell products, I say no and she hang up on me.

Caller asked if I spoke Spanish: "Tu habla espanol?" I said no and that she had called a business. She hung up.

Why is there no information on area code 543 anywhere on the internet?  Where does this number originate?  Right after this person called, I was kicked off my company VPN.  Coincidence?

I recently purchased tickets from LAN airlines and then received this call a few days later.  If its not LAN calling me, then i wonder if they sell your phone number to some call solicitation companies in South America.  Thats my only idea.

Someone just called me from that number. The caller was South American -I'm from Spain-, and he was asking for my mother. He hung up right after I told him she wasn't home. Reaaally weird...

Today we have received a call displaying "5431300001". It was my brother calling from a hotel in Galway, Ireland. It wasn't the hotel number, so I suppose that that one is a "dumb number" used to made calls VoIP, offered by a company to hotels, call-centers, etc...

They call us 7 or 9 times this week,
giving names alleatory
they said they are from Filipinas,
when I claim I'm going to go to police
the said they never stop calling us..
and the police can't do nothing...

They called my mother in South America at 6:00 in the morning and did not speak Spanish causing great confusion for her. What are these people doing?, I wonder

Called at 1:54 am in the middle of the night. The phone rang twice then stopped.

I placed a call to my son at around 3:00 a.m. and I heard two clicks on my line before he answered.  I could not hear him so I thought the call had been disconnected and I called him back.  When he answered he said this number was showing on his caller ID so he was confused and thought I had a new phone number.  He immediately search the web for info on this number and came across this site.  When he started talking to me about this being some kind of scam number and that I should contact not only the phone company but maybe the FBI too, our call was disconnected and all I heard was a busy signal on my phone -- like someone else had been listening in on our conversation and had hung up with my son, but still had the line open with me.  When I called him back a third time he said the caller ID was then showing my actual phone number.  It sounds to me like someone is hacking into the phone system somehow and using my line to make calls.  I will notify the phone company immediately tomorrow and anyone else they suggest I contact.  I have also had multiple "fax machine" calls for months now, mostly very late at night, but the phone company thought it was just a glitch in my security system.  I think these calls are related.

This number has called twice today and each time there is no response....

Just got a call from 543-130-001. I live in South Carolina. I let it go to voicemail. The message asked for me by name and said he had seen my resume on Hot Jobs. The caller sounded Indian. Gave me a local number to call. I looked the local number up and it scored a 100% spam rating.

Get call from this number and then a 500 area code. No answer.  Why can't the phone company tell what this might be?  Cloning  etc?

Second time this week that I have received a phone call from this number.  First time a man asked for a name that I had never heard of.  Today, I didn't bother answer the phone.

Got a call today from what my caller id listed as 54-543-130-0001
Looked up the country code and found it listed as Argentina.
Didn't talk to the caller.

My Aunt called me from the same state I live in which is Missouri and the number she was calling from said 543-130-0001. This is NOT her number as well and not even close to being the same area code. I'm not sure what's going on but this needs to stop. Your story is the only one that sounded similar to mine and it's very odd. My Aunt as well heard two clicks before she heard me answer. When she hung up and called me back then her name and number showed up on the caller ID. Maybe the phones are tapped or somehow getting crossed over from another area. I'm not sure what's going on but they need to get things straightened out. If you or anyone else finds out what is going on, please let me know. Thanks!
