I recevied a call from that # but did not answer because the # looked fake

I just got a shout from them. It sounds dumb to say but 1-555-999-9999 still looks fake even as you see it sitting there on the caller ID. They called my cell phone. I read two theories somewhere random about these asian companies that just willy nilly call phone numbers hoping that its an asian person for willing to work, seeing as they occupy like a 1/6 of the population it sounds plausible. The other theory was a few companies just keep you on the phone however they can and hook up to your account phone number and steal data.

I am going to guess this is some telemarketers and they are spoofing a fake caller ID #  I never recieved a message as I just let my machine pick this up, as the phone number looks like something you'd see gave out in a movie...lol

Yes. Definitely a fake caller ID. I picked up and hanged up. No need to talk to these scumbags.

I couldn't return the call as it said that the subscriber couldn't be reached by redialing that number.  I had somebody this week from FB, an American, who started spreading lies about me to mutual friends on FB and I believe, this person, a so-called would-be actress Michelle Ressler from Ravenna, Ohio, who has been stalking actor Gerard Butler online since 2004, is the culprit, giving my number to whomever is behind that number.  She seemed to be a friend but she turned out this week to be a harasser, a bully and what she has been since 2004, a stalker.  I reported to her FB and will be filing a lawsuit against her for libel and defamation.

they have been calling me the last few days at VERY random times and i think i picked up once but no one was on the other end

We have been getting calls from this number and there's never anyone on the other end.  Sometimes we  get a message that sounds like a vacant telemarketer lost in the answering machine: hello? hello? hello?

For who ever is calling 905 822 9595, go visit the bottom of the lake, permentely.

They called here for the first time today.
The number was so obviously fake that I didn't answer it.
I have added it to my caller ID block list.

They have called my place 5 times in the last hour.  It is very annoying,  I never answered with the # 555-999-9999, it looks like a fake number.  How do you make them stop?

I just got 2 calls from this number, and when I looked it up, I was taken to a telepest website, the only way to deal with it, is to call your phone provided and tell them about it, and then call block them

they call me 3 times today, and i picked it up, but it hangs up when i pick it up. but i wouldn't try to call them if i were you...

I've gotten the call about 5 times tonight and answered it and it doesnt stop calling, as soon as i answer it the other line hangs up... whats this from? what'll this do?

3 calls..all hang ups..clicks..electro static..would get these from Telus satellite ..they said oh it's just checking the phone lines..had to dial *69 to get number then track to Telus..call and ask zup with this...told them don't charge me 2 dollars for your bs won't pay..argued with me and I said so you are scamming for *69 charges..thats fraud..never got charged..
never got another satellite call either..until this 555 999 9999..not Canadian..not USA..must be lala land ..on voip now..so could be hackers of some kind..sat marketing but no message..glitched..? Woke me up 3 times..this is the first site had anything I could find on this puzzle..:) still digging.
