Sick of getting these #'s.  I Just picked up and hung up.

This number calls my phone and hangs up without leaving a message 3x in two days ..listing as Porterville, CA. Nuisance!

Caller ID: "Porterville, CA." Telemarketer.  I answered. Caller said " May I speak to the home owner." I said, " This is He."  Caller said. "Sir, this is Paul calling from Solar"...at which point I just hung up, having gained enough info to help classify the call. Polite approach, Indian accent. I will now report the call to my VOIP provider's "Community Blacklist" and, for myself, block this entire area code on my personal blacklist. My service works. Only very recent junk calls get through. At least a 90% reduction in junk calls  since I subscribed 2 months ago.   Oo**
PS fyi "Consumer Reports" to which I subscribe, is trying to organize an effort to help.
The only way I can see to reduce these nuisance calls is for Verizon, Comcast, et al to stop them.

They told me there calling from a solar energy company they want to know how much my electric bill is, i would advise adding your number to the do not call list they will call from a few different numbers

This is a scam, do not give any kind of information to these callers

I get 3-4 calls per day from this "Solar" company. I've told them to repeatedly take me off their call list but they continue.

I am tired of receiving these calls about 5 times per day and they call from different numbers.  They don't say anything and then hang up.

They call here several times a Day, I never answer, it just says Porterviille CA 599-306-6400.

I have 3 of these calls just this morning and two last night!

Must be my lucky day. These a$$holes have just called me 3x in the last half hour. Really? This is not the way to sell solar. At this point I wouldn't trust anyone selling solar. Very shady! I get these solar calls from various outfits all the time. I never pick up what I don't recognize. I'm sure most of the country does the same. I'm unlisted. Go figure! "Solar USA" calls me several times a day! I tell them to remove my name and they keep calling. I am an the do not call list which does not seem to help.

They call every day, sometimes twice a day.  I do not answer, just let it go to answering machine.  Of course no message.  Very annoying.  Need to stop calling

Make a Complaint to the FCC, I did

Every day a scam call from a different number. No message. I don't answer. I block it. Then another number is used.

Jason, from "CA, USA" with a solar scam.  He didn't have a scripted reply to "Well, this would be an illegal sales call, wouldn't it?" and hung up on me in frustration.

DO NOT answer UNKNOWN CALLS!  NEVER!!!

Every time you answer these CRIMINAL calls, you confirm that you have a working/live phone number - a number that can be sold to other telemarketers or to whom?
Purchase a call blocking telephone or purchase a call blocking device that can block entire area codes as well as full telephone numbers - we have both.  Check out Amazon!
The 559 area code is now blocked!  The scammers can change phone numbers but if they call from the 559 area code - they are blocked and our phones DO NOT RING!

"Solar" and Porterville, CA showed on Caller ID.

Said he was Jason from American Solar. When I asked for a copy of their do not call policy he hung up.

Repeated calls from this number--I do NOT answer them.  I suspect it is a scam.  Judging by the comments preceding mine, others think the same thing.  What a nuisance.  DNC does no good what so ever any more it seems.

I am in Connecticut and just got a call from this number.  I do not answer if I do not recognize the caller-ID, then if they do not leave a message I assume they are a telemarketer and I block the number.  So this number has been added to my blocked call list.

My phone number has been on the National Do Not Call Registry since August 2003 so if they are telemarketers, they are violating the law.

To block calls like this I got a Panasonic KX-TGE245B that allows me to block up to 250 numbers and/or area-codes.  Panasonic has several new 2014 models that will block that many numbers.  You simply save the CID to the blocked list.  You can also block area codes by adding them to what they call a “Range List” (you are blocking the range of numbers starting with that area code).

There are several types of call blockers & call blocking phones.  I suggest you get one so at least you only need to deal with any caller once.
