I have caller ID, and I just got a call from this number as well.  It's Capital One who is calling you, so you know.

I get lots of calls from this number with no message. I also get calls from 800-955-6600 with a recorded message from Capitol One wanting to tell me about special offers.

I got 3 calls from this # this morning. I reverse searched it on a public people search site and got the name and address of this person. Then I went on to google maps and found out the address doesnt even exist. It was all farmland!  No houses in site.
If this is actually Capital One, maybe they bought the # and havent updated the info yet?  Or do they have a random number generator that masks theyre own # ?

If you go one buck over your credit limit, they will call you within the hour every thirty minutes.

This number is NOT Capital Number.  It came from a home in Squaw Valley, CA.  If you called it back, it says it's Capital One and asks for a credit card number to be entered.  This is a scam.  The number is now disconnected.

called at 8:30 am on sunday

called 8:53 sunday morning.

Received a call 9:28 Sunday morning plus a text message saying "PLEASE CALL."

got a call from this number at 9:46am.  when i called back it sounded like Capital One, but the message was quite static filled, and (the static) was not coming from my side

i have (unfortunately) overdrawn my account with them before, and never received a call as long as i cleared it up within the next calendar month.  my account is now in good standing, and i pay my bills in advance.  this number is still calling me

As stated in the other complaints, It is an automated Capital One call.

No message on answering machine. But did call at 11:33 on Sunday morning. What business would call on Sunday! It could be Capital One, as I do have their credit cards.

They called back at 2:10pm! Message on answering machine said they have exciting opportunities from Capital One if you will call back.

Jeff, great information, thank you!  They have called me 3 times today, Sunday! I have 2 cards with them, so I don't know which to input when they ask for it, and I shouldn't have to go through this on my day off. They are calling my cell phone.  I appreciate the info!

they called me sunday morning at 8:56am and then again at 10:18am.
they just called today, monday, with a different number at 8:35am.
the number they called from today was 813-274-1837.
i have never gotten these calls before yesterday. i find it very odd, especially since i just paid my capital one bill the other day. they would have no reason to call my cell phone.

This number is back in business. claiming to be Capital One.

They called me at 8:40 this morning. The guy claimed I was over the limit and was offering to waive the overlimit fees if I paid right away.  He kept saying "because you are a valued cardholder..."  When I said I would pay, he wanted to know when, and I said " in an hour or so I will get on line and make a payment." This guy was trying to get my bank Swift numbers so he could clear out my accounts!
I have called Capital One. They have NOT made this call to me.
Cap One suggested that we make a claim to our local Better Business Bureaus to get this guy.

I sell Identity Theft Shield. Do not give them any information when they call. You have contact numbers on your statements so you solicet them so that you know who you are speaking with. I am seeing these type scams progressively more.
