- Pam| 3 repliesDid not answer but caller "Steve Martin" with heavy Indian accent, left a message about "enforcement actions, executed by US treasury" for a "federal criminal offense". Called twice within an hour. As we have no such issues, have to believe that it is part of the scam that is on national news lately.
- BruceYes, I received one of those calls as well. Heavy Indian accent warning of "a federal criminal offense" and mentioning appearance before a magistrate or grand jury. Must be a scam.

- Michelle replies to PamSame thing happened to me where r u located
- BettySeveral messages left on my phone something about an appearance before Magistrate Judge for a criminal offense? Very much unwanted!!
- ChuckGot a call from 559-416-8341, Madera, CA with a generic message from a Steve Martin with thick accent (also) saying I needed to call him to avoid a US Treasury federal lawsuit and imprisonment because this is the second notice. I got one the day before from Kirkland Washington with basically the same message. Didn’t call either one back.
- TomSame message as previous persons have already reported. I guess it is a scam. I did not call back.
- Jant replies to PamI just got the exact message. I blocked my number and called back. Of course, it went to voicemail then said the mailbox couldn't accept any more messages. That is very unfortunate because I had a good one for "Steve Martin." Federal criminal offense? Pssssh!
- A.B.Same thing just happened to me I have contacts with the treasury who confirmed this is a scam.
- RuthAlso got a call from this nr. they left a message on my answering machine!!
- tcHave received the same call twice within the last 2 hours with same message to call quickly so they can help me!

- PeJae replies to PamHad two calls from this number - "Steve Martin" being the caller. Same message " US treasury for a federal criminal offense". Called that number back and a "Daniel Ridge" - indian accent - answered. He told me that he is calling from the US Treasury - IRS and claims that we have unpaid taxed for 2008 and 2009. He wanted my lawyers name and phone number as well as the CPA's information that prepared my taxes. If I refused, he has a warrent for my arrest that would be executed immediately.
I told him that the IRS would bombard someone that owed taxes with a lot of mail prior to taking drastic actions such as what he was threatening with. He claimed that the letters were all send to our CPA and he must have forgotten to let me know (hahaha). However, he did not know who my CPA was that received the notes. I told him to get the arrest warrant going - that my toothbrush is packed and I am ready to go. Scam for sure - AJFrom US Treasury..some kind of bs voice mail stating urgency and shouldn't be ignored. Called twice and left voice mail each time. I called, told him to get me off his spam list. He hangs up on me. I called again and with a more stern voice, told him to get me off his spam lists. He came back saying something cocky, so I spelled SPAM to him. He hung up on me. I am sorry, but no one with the name of Steve Martin would have a thick foreign Indian accent. If he calls again, I will be calling the US Treasury to let known of a fraudulent act being done in their name!
- Caller: US Treasury
- Ron| 1 replySame as everyone else. This is a new scam by the old players. I still believe these are not Indians but Muslims trying to raise money for jihadist. Anyway I look forward to speaking to them one on one when they call if I am home.
- Caller: Says US Treasury
- Bethsame as above, oh Steve Martin don't you have some writing, joke telling, or banjo playing to do sir?!
- Peter| 1 replyJust received the same call.....the message was not addressed to me so right away I thought it was a scam. Also I work with the Customs and Border Protection and Treasury Department everyday.....they do not use the telephone for delinquent issue.
Blocked the phone number.... - StephanieGot a call this morning from this number & when I called it back the man with a very heavy foreign accent tried to tell me I was going to jail due to not paying my 2008 taxes. I informed him he was wrong & he told me ma'am I will have u locked up right now. I said I'm handicap so u go right ahead. So then he said how much can u pay today. I laughed & said $20. He said let's not play with this. I will just issue the warrant. I hung up. Had the nerve to call back a few minutes ago.

- BruceVExactly like everyone else. It's a familiar scam with a different twist. Hopefully, there are not too many people that get burnt by these crooks.
- another potential victimI just got a call from this number, 559-416-8341, they left a message on the voicemail saying that the police would be here to arrest me within the hour because of unpaid taxes. SERIOULSY, what a scare tactic! I hope other folks don't fall victim to these Indian scam artists.

- JanSecond msg from them today. I called them back and got "Robert", not "Steve Martin." I told him I had reported their scam to the FTC, which I have in fact done, and then hung up. We'll see if they call back.
- bk| 1 replySteve Martin called me too. I don't know if there's enough room in the pen for all of us that he's going to round up today. We're in TN, but I suspect this is a national scam.
