Washington Mutual called and asked to speak to me. I asked for a call back number saying that I don't have time to speak now. He said they don't have one - only outgoing calls. He asked for the best time to call back and said not to call again. What was this about? If I can't call back I can't trust the caller!

I also got a call from Washington Mutual at this number.

Synovate Research got my info from washington mutual about home loans or some crap like that.

I promptly asked to be put on the DNC list

Gee, Mike that was kind of harsh. I, probably like the other posters, did do a search on the number. Actually, that is how I got to this site. My caller ID showed **UNKNOWN**  Only  559 437-5359  noted.  

When I answered, there was no reply so I have no idea who the call was from.

It's 7:00 pm pacific time, and I just receieved the same call, except they hung up after 4 rings.

I want to thank you for posting this information.  You saved me a great deal of time, and I was able to get these clowns at Synovate to stop calling me.  You are right, caller ID shows the company name and phone number.  You pointed me to the person who could remove my name from their call lists.  I haven't gotten any more calls from these people since I contacted their Fresno office.

Sandy, sorry but you are totally off base here.  Synovate does identify itself, on caller ID and when they call, if you ask for the company name.  They were calling me regarding a survey for Washington Mutual, but Washington Mutual was not the company calling.  I appreciate Mike's comment to let people know to post helpful information, and not just bellyache on this site.  Thanks again, Mike, for your help!

I agree, Julie.  Mike has done us all a big favor, and should be thanked, not spit on.
I got 2 calls from Synovate on a Sunday morning.  They were calling on behalf of a company I never heard of (no, it wasn't Washington Mutual).  I was furious, until I found this site and read Mike's comments.  Next day, I contacted Synovate in Fresno, and haven't had any more calls from them since.  Mike, my wife and I both thank you, and wish that everyone had the good sense to do the detective work you've done, and the willingness to share their research with others.  Too many lazy people just use this site as a gripe board, without even reading the research that others have done for them, or doing the research themselves.  One call to Synovate's Fresno office took care of things.  You did everything for me, except make the phone call.  Thanks again, Mike, and good work!

The voice had an east Indian accent.  The caller wanted to know about my last credit card used (name of card unspecified).  He did mention Synovate, but didn't specify why he wanted information about credit card usage. This number has come up before when I was unable to answer the phone.

I got a call from this number and they left no message.  The number came up on my caller ID, but it did not say that it was from "Synovate."  It said "Out of area."  I agree that Mike gave us some quality info, but I also have to agree with Sandy that he was a little harsh.  She did research the number, as did I, and that is how we ended up here.

I beg to differ about Synovate being on caller ID.  On my caller ID for the number 1-559-437-5359, the only ID is the ubiquitous "Unknown Name." They called on 5/10/07 at 7:05 PM.  So, maybe SOMETIMES they list their company name, but not this time!

I received a call from this number this evening...my caller ID says "CALIFORNIA" and then the phone number...the caller ID depends on your telephone service (from what my phone company told me .. verizon)...

I did an internet search on this number and came up with this site and also the WHOCALLEDUS site....

I always research numbers to see who is calling.

I just don't answer if I don't know who is calling...that is what caller ID is for. Sometimes you have to put up with rings at odd hours and/or several times a day...but they eventually stop calling.

If I don't answer...eventually they get tired of trying to reach me :)

I too have been receiving calls from 1-559-437-5359 and shows up private and once in awhile Synovate.  After reading about the company i see that they are telemarketers or whatever and don't need this aggrevation.  I have cancer and am very ill.....don't need to talk to these pains in my butt.  I too have registered with the "Do Not Call" list and believe me they are going to hear from me as soon as I'm done writing this inquiry.

Well I"ve read all these messages & I would like to SAY THIS TO MIKE, IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE PHONE YOU HAVE! I have 3 different phones all w/caller ID; AT&T, Sony, GE & when your company called my AT&T came up with Synovate, my Sony came up with caller UNKNOWN & the GE came up with NO NAME though all 3 came up with the same phone#.

I have also found out from my phone company in Orlando (& an aunt who just retired from a phone company in NY) that in certain areas, it can depend on the phone companies themselves as to what comes up w/the#. Things are manually inputed & with the way people change #'s (more than they change underware-at times-as she put it) The systems don't get updated right away, & if it's a small company in "let's say Watonga, OK (where I spent some time with family) all you had to do was dial the last 4 digits within the town (& neighboring towns). So updates may not get done at all. And yes, even in today's age of technology there are still places within the USofA that are not up to everyone elses standards, even some cities you think should be aren't.

Not to mention this fact, but if your company is a research company (for WaMu) & people are on the DO NOT CALL LIST, then that is what it means DO NOT CALL!!! No Exemptions!!! Research is still telemarketing!, anyway you look at it. I should NOT have to be bothered by a "research phone call" just because I went to a bank & changed a pin#, don't you agree???

The caller ID does not show the company name when they call to my area. It only shows "Caller Unknown".  Thanks for the information, I have initiated legal action against them for violation of the "Don't Call List".  It is my beleif that the only way to stop this abuse is to hit all these violators with civil suits.

We're on the DNC list too.

Thank you for the info...this is the first time it ever occurred to me to use Internet to find out who is calling...I was going to share much of the info that kj posted...but I'm too late.  ;)
I am going to check again because I thought I was on a DNC list also and I still get calls occassionally...I used to be a telemarketer for a short time...single parent had about four jobs...people can get ugly, but many are nice.  If they call here they better all hope they get me, not dh...he insists they give him their phone number so he can call them at ? time...I can't believe they just call on Sunday and after 9pm at night.

GET THIS:  I just scrolled through my Caller I.D. they called on 7/23 at 9:35 AT NIGHT and it is same number BUT it comes up Fresno  CA (I actually answered that time, and told them it was inappropriate for them to be calling this late on the East Coast!)

I had another number call me one night four times in a row...I think it was Dell...they called at like 5:34, 6:37, 7:39, and 8:45 or something crazy like that..I never picked up till next day I think I told them about all the calls the night before also.
