Called about car loan

Received a call from this number, asking for James Cox.  But when I answered it appeared myself and someone else answered at the same time.  When I said, "Who?!"  The caller hung up.  When you call the number back, it says the number is not in service.  Definitely has to be linked to fraud.  Steer clear!

Just received a call from this number asking for my fiance and when I told them he was unavailable and ask if there was a message the woman said no message and hung up. I tried to call the number back several times and a recording states that the call cannot be completed to check the number and try again.

Caller said he was my husbands cousin.

I tried to call the number back too. Said the number or code I dialed was incorrect.
How do people get numbers like this to call from?
Definitely don't want to have anything to do with someone that calls from a number that gives a message like that when you try to call it. FRAUD!

IF you dont file a complaint w/FCC then they wont stop!!!

They are calling me now several times a day and not speaking or leaving a message so I've filled with both my state and the FCC.

Just got a call from this too. Didn't answer. You can't call it back because it is not a legitimate US phone number. The prefix of 091 is invalid because the first digit is not allowed to be a 0 or 1. It is most likely spoofed. This type of activity screams of fraud and scams.

I can't figure out why these online phone searches cant produce more information. You would think they could tell you everything you wanted to know, but it seems like they want you to pay for this information. Before someone got greedy you could put any phone number into Google and could get much information about.
Now with the greed very little information unless you pay.

What sort of information are you seeking? The post above yours seems to have all of the pertinent facts. The number is not legitimate, it is spoofed. Those using it are scammers attempting to defraud. I don't believe you'll get any more info even if you pay.

This number shows up on my caller ID from time to time.  Haven't yet talked to the caller.

Called me on a Saturday afternoon, asking about the warranty about my car, which they knew the make and year of. They identified themselves as "Dealer Inventory Information Center" or something, but when I asked them to clarify where they were calling from, they hung up! SCAM!

They won't talk when I answer. When I don't answer and call back it says it cannot be dialed! SCAM OR SCUM...WHICH EVER YOU PREFER!

This number called today, asked if (my husbands name) was available when I said no, he hung up.

Rec'd call from 561-091-6563, didn't answer. No message left on answering machine. Could here the click of the phone. Thanks for the information regarding this phone number & the experiences that has went with this number. Wish we could prosecute them. Maybe they would get the message. Thank you. God bless.

Received a call on my cell from this number.  No message left.  Thanks, everyone, for the heads up on this.

Received a call on my cell from this number.  They asked if they could speak to Daniel (my husband).  I replied "No, this is not his phone."  They hung up.

Received a call from that number and they said it was for an expired warranty on one of my vehicles and wanted me to renew it before it closed out.  Warranty has been up for over 3 years.......SCAM

I just received a call from this number.  A woman, who did NOT identify herself ,knew my name & said to me, very rudely, that they have made multiple attempts to contact me regarding a warranty on my 2010 Mercury, and this is their last attempt.  I told her that I no longer owned a 2010 Mercury & she hung up on me.

I tried to call back to find out what company this was, and to log a complaint about the rep that called, and just received a generic voicemail.  I plan on telling my Lincoln dealer about this call, just in case they have received similar complaints.

I'd love to find out who this is.  I am on the Do Not Call list.  Very Irritating.

For those folks trying to return their "call", note that there is a "091" exchange. (That number is the first three numbers you dial in a local 7-digit call or immediately following the area code.) It is technically IMPOSSIBLE to call an 0-9-1 exchange. That said, it is a spoof ID in its most obvious sense.

As far as the call itself, I simply answered the phone with: "Telemarketer, please identify yourself." "CLICK!"
