I got a call from this number a few hours ago.  I didn't recognize it so I didn't answer and they left no message.

Received call this evening, I did not answer because I didn't recognize the number, no message left

Received a call just now, let the machine pick it up since I didn't know the number... The message was blank for about 20 seconds then a man with a Hispanic accent started yelling  hello... Hello... HELLO

This is a Florida Sheriff organization looking for donations.

Got a call just a few minutes ago, let the machine pick it up, no message left.

when you get these calls ask percentage that your sheriffs organization gets   they will most likely hang up

Received the same call, answered and no response.  What a pain!

Received a call from this number several days ago.

Called the number back today. A man answered "Hello..... Hello.......Hello..."  I didn't say anything. After all, turnabout is FAIR PLAY!

So, IF this was a LEGIT agency/company whatever, they would have answered with the company name...NOT hello!

BOGUS!!!!!!   SCAM!!!!!!!

It's a bogus boiler room set up to get you to give to the Florida Sheriff's Assoc. which does NOT exist.

They live for the poor suckers that call back.  I called and spent the next 10 minutes speaking to them in Russian.  They had no Russian speakers so that really messed up their game a little.

Have a little fun if time permits and swallow up some of productivity.  They took your time.  It's only fair to play back.

They just called my house and spoke to my wife and told her they were the American Veteran Association.... I looked the number up, found this forum, and called back. The man answered the phone "Hello" and I asked him who the organization was and he told me the Florida Sheriffs' Association. I asked what % of the donation actually went the the Sheriffs and he paused for a minute and said atleast 10% which is garbage. I told him no thank you and hung up... WHAT A SCAM!!!

Husband answered. Always tell him if he don't know the number, don't answer it. Said they were the FL Sheriffs Association. 25.00 donation. I pulled the phone out. Nothing but lazy ass people who prey on working ass people. What goofballs. Scam,scam,scam.

This is the 2nd time I've had a call from this #.  I let my answering machine pick it up, and they left no message.

I got a call from this number on July 12, 2012 at 6:46 pm.  I answered and the caller said he was soliciting donations for the local police or sheriff's association.  The caller ID simply said, "FLORIDA".  I said no thanks and quickly hung up before he had a chance to argue with me.

Yep, they are calling my 800 business number, maybe they want to pay for the minutes??

I received a call in reference to renting a home in Mt. Juliet TN.  The man told me to send him the deposit and first month rent via western union and he would send the keys after. I was first sent an e-mail stating that I was approved and I needed to send the money immediately.  The e-mail stated that the man and his wife were out of the country on a christian retreat.  I researched the number and found this forum.  I then called the man back and told him I knew it was a scam and he is not to call or email me.  I told him that I was reporting him to the local authorities.

This is a debt collector, Portfolio Recovery, using a spoofed number and various bogus identifiers such as FL Sherriff’s Assoc or FL Veteran Assoc. They also use the notorious 000-000-0000. The out-of-SOL debt they've purchased does not have accurate contact info and that's their purpose. They are trying to dupe you into identifying yourself by name and to confirm your address, saying they want to mail a donation envelope. No legitimate charities operate like this. Once a debt is out of the SOL debt collectors are prohibited by law from taking legal action. The only way they have a shot is if a person confirms their identity to the caller and admits to owing the debt. This restarts your state's statute of limitations clock. Once they've confirmed your identity and address the threatening demand/legal action letters will follow. If your name is part of your vm change it. Block these calls if possible, but definitely do not answer.

Got a cal from this number on 7/2/14 @ 1:07pm they said they were with allstate insurance.
