Someone claiming to be called "David Zimmerman" claiming to be representing a firm called "Gregg Adams & Associates".  Basically, this guy tried to use as much jumbled legal jargon as he could, saying there was a "charge" attached to my social security number and that I am a "person of interest" and that if they didn't hear from me, they would "proceed in favor of the client".  Now, a couple things here.  Since I actually come from a family of lawyers and am married to a police officer, all of this is wrong.  First of all, he never said my name, lawyers, if they leave a message, will always name the person they are trying to reach.  I doubt this guy knew my name, they probably just randomly call people and then hope people will give up their SSN and personal details.  

Anyway, even if there was a charge of some kind against you, you would hear about that from the police.  Otherwise, people file lawsuits, only the police or district attorney's office can file charges against you.  Secondly, "person of interest" is a term used for criminal investigations, not lawyers.  Lawyers don't deal with the police investigation.  Lastly, a lawyer can't "proceed in favor of the client".  Only a judge can do that.

Anyway, he ends the call by saying, "Thank you and please govern yourself accordingly."  Which doesn't even make sense.

I called the number.  When I spoke to someone, he asked for my information, I told him that I wouldn't be giving him any personal information.  He asked what county I was in, I told him again I wouldn't give him any personal information.  He started getting snippy with me.  I asked why this number traces back to a trucking company.  He told me not to call there again.

I don't know exactly what their scam is, but I suspect it is to try to collect personal info (SSN, DOB, etc.).  Beware.

I got this call today also and it happened just the same way but when I called back they answered like an actual lawyers office they wanted my number but they had caller ID because she already had it and offered to check the phone number to see if I was called "accidentially." She asked if I can't give her my phone number to chk and I refused so I ended the call with her. She did chuckle when I asked if they were a trucking company.

I got a called from them this morning and he was stating that I wrote a bad check from 6 years ago and that they would be filing a lawsuit again me if money was not collected. I had "GREG" send me a email with his letter head to me. Guess what never recieved it!! If he was a true lawyer that email would have been sent right away. This jerkwad David Zimmerman called about some "charge" against my SSN and that I better call back or he will side with his client against me.  This is yet another corrupt collections agency that can kiss it.

continually receiving calls for my ex-husband from this co -- told them to stop calling but they refuse and say I'm responsible for debts too -- debts discharged in ex-husband's bankruptcy - which I explained to them and gave them bankruptcy info -- they won't stop calling!

Same call same crap from David Zimmerman don't believe a word this yahoo has to say they are a scam organization waiting for some poor soul to believe their BS with threats as soon as they call press a button on the phone or start screaming in his ear! Stupid jerk!

Recieved call from a melanie steinberg saying my SS# was attached to a legal matter. I called back and a guy by the name of Robert answered. When i asked for Melanie he said she was in a meeting with one of the attorneys and she was a legal asst. FUNNY cause they are not a law firm. They are Allied Financial and use a legal but FAKE name of gregory adams and associates.. DO NOT CALL NUMBER BACK. They CANNOT sue you. They are a company that takes old debts usually 5yrs or older and try scare tatics to get people to pay. Again DO NOT CALL THEM BACK EVER... scum bags. I know all of this cause i had a lawyer call them and look into them.. They said i owed $ to a check n go and owed $ on 2 boats. Well i have NEVER used a check n go and i have NEVER bought or owned any type of boat

The second I heard the term "person of interest"  I laughed.  I agree with Anon. that is a term used by law enforcement..not law offices.

Just got a call from this scam artist who had the audacity to leave a voicemail under the name "David Zimmerman". He too said that he was with Greg Adams & Associates, however, he called from 954-345-4786. He claimed that this was his second attempt at contacting me regarding a claim that was in his office and that if I did not respond, he would then assume that I was trying to evade the matter and that he would proceed in favor of his client.
Today is June 4th and it appears he is trying his best to create fear based on false claims. Do not believe him as mentioned in previous complaints on this website. Thank you to Anon for posting your initial comments. I am glad that information like this is available from other consumers.

I've gotten two calls from these people, one message was left by Melanie Steinberg with the "I have a cliam attached to your SSN" schtick followed by the "govern yourself accordingly" signoff. The second from David Zimmerman claiming this is his second time trying to call and if I don't call back by the end of business, he'll have to make decisions on my behalf without my knowledge.

Because you can totally do that without power of attorney, or knowing my name.

The incoming call number was 954 345 4786 but he left a callback number of 561 288 1193.

this guy somehow got my work phone # to leave the same scammy message.  I am going to report it to my corporate communications dept and let them deal with this too.

I have received several phone calls from different people all claiming that they are from this company.  They have even called my ex-husband who I have been divorced from for 18 years!  Now how in the hell would they get his number???  I told them that if they had any proof of my doing anything like writing bad checks to check n go they needed to send me proof.  They also said they had video survelience, yeah right!  They didn't even know the correct state that I was living in.  Next time they call, thanks to all these posts, guess what his answer is gonna be?  Can you say "shove it" and stop harrassing me or you will find a lawsuit????

David Zimmerman left a message saying if I don't call them back blah blah blah... They didn't say who they were looking for so I ignored it I figured it was a wrong number. A week later they called back and lefter another message with a more nasty tone something about charges atached to my ssn and if I didn't call back they would continue with charges in my county. Well out of curiousity I called back " *67 " . I asked what kind of scam this. He said I need to look them up on line. I said I was reading these comments as we speak so he hung up on me. I called back and talked to another guy I asked why they called and didn't say who they were looking for. I was told it was a computer generated call. Well I have gotten many wrong number calls on my other line and they always say who they are looking for even when it wasn't a real person leaving the message. He kept insisting that I give hin my personal information. Again he hung up on me? I called again and talked to a woman this time. I asked the same questions and got the same answers. All she wanted was my personal info. I told her that they should already have it. She said I was just helping their case by not cooperating and they can find out who I was even if I called private! I told her next time they call they need to say who they are looking for. If they knew who I was they would know where I lived! Even if they record the calls it can't help their so called " case " because they don't say who they are calling! They won't be calling me again because I blocked their number from my phone...

I am also a victim of these [***]!!!  I am a  mother of 3 and have never been accused of anything that would have a lawsuit placed against me.  These poeple have called my mother and grandmother who is 80, they had the woman thinking I was going to jail!!! I am so thank-ful for all the post, because everything is the same.  I'll go you one further, they didn't call my name on the message but named the veicle I was driving!!! How the Hell!!! So I also have received several of these phone calls. The beginning phone calls were from a different person's name but these last two have been from a David Zimmerman on 4/22 at 11:45am of Greg Adams & Associates with allegations attached to SSN and to call 305-222-7826. I received another one on 7/2/12 at 7:25pm from Mr. Zimmerman of Gregory Adams & Associates stating this was his third attempt and I needed to contact him that day and to call 561-210-4826 but funny thing is it came in as a Florida Call with a number of 954-345-4786.  I also received a call from a Nancy Miller from BRS or DRS or IRS, couldn't understand since it was mumbled on same day as Zimmerman 7/2/12 talking about how sorry she was we have been missing each other  and tell you what why don't you call me at 800-807-4106. Now this one came in as a Toll Free call with a number of 800-851-9631.  What is with all the scamming calls?  This is why I don't answer my phone...  

I really appreciate your knowledge with all of this and it at least validates my thoughts about these being nothing but a scam.

Same from Zimmerman.  But received the call from 954 688 4660 and asked to call back at that number as well.

My daughter got a message today stating the same informaton.  She assumed it was just what it is, but called me to make sure.  I googled his name and found y'all.   Thank god for internet and google. :)
