When I answered - caller indicated it was a courtesy call - when I replied that if this was a telemarketing call, I was not interested, he hung up.
I called back the number form a different phone and got a recorded message that this a fundraising company.

Received a call from 561-693-4118 at 4:55 PM CST on Aug 25, 2011.  Caller states that his name is Dennis and he calling about a civic matter.  He asked to speak to my husband by name.  My husband, thinking the call was about work, used his office title when answering the phone.  When the caller realized he was asking to speak with an officer of the law the caller hung up.  This caller must be going down a call registery.  Our number is unlisted but we recently registered to vote.

I received a call from this number also, 561-693-4118, on my cellphone was listed as No Name.  This caller left no voice mail.  I've not been answering calls that are not identified.

I also got a call from 561-693-4118 on10/24/11 and since I have caller ID only the number showed up but no name.  Did not recognize the number and after a few rings decided to answer.   There was no answer but the caller was still on the line and eventually hung up

Received a call from this number this afternoon at our office.  On the caller ID it noted this was a "Local Area Call."  When I answered the phone there was a slight pause and then I heard a call connecting -- the person hung up when I notified them they had called a company.  It seems as if the telemarketers are getting wise -- instead of showing "Toll Free Call" they now have "Local Area Call" numbers.

Supposedly calling for the FL Police Athletic League; screwed up a very important call for me.  Call a different 800 number and they will 'take you off', but 'you still may get contacted by other groups'...

I asked "who is this"? and the lady refused to identify herself, she then hung up.

If the ID says, "Local Area Call" and the area code is outside my area, I know it's a telemarketer. Ipick up the receiver, press and hold the # key and if the call is automated it will automatically remove my number from the calling bank. If a person is on the other end, they will figure they got a fax machine and delete my number. I'm not sure it's helping, but it makes ME feel better.

Have you ever received anything worthwhile from any of these calls? He$$ no! Get smart if you don't recognize the number or there is no name don't answer. How simple is that! If it is important they will call back or send you a letter. Don't be stupid.

I also received a call that said local area.  My daughter asked to take a message and they told her it was none of her business.  RUDE!!!!!

this phone 561-693-4118 called i said hello and they said is Antonio there and i said Antonio what? and they said Cabrera and i asked who is this and they said something police and i said he was in the shower i dont really knoe what the DO they want but they need to stop callinn sircly

Received several calls over several days asking to speak with the owner of the business. As soon as I tell him that the owner is not available they hang up, as I am saying that the owner is never here. These calls are BS...

We are on  the do not call list violation to the DNC list

Received a call from this number at 7:55pm 1/5/12 and the called asked for my husband by 1st name i said he's not available, but this is his wife, who is this? He said this is Jonathan and Gilbert (last name) is not available? and I said no he's not.  He said OK, and hung up...I tried calling the # back and it was busy... We too are on the DNC list.  Called back another time and it gave me music of some sort...weird!

called my home @ 8:45pm on 1/25/2012 and asked for my husband, when i told them he was not home, i asked whose calling and they said they'll back later and hung up on me...

I'm tired of receiving calls from this number! It's every day, in the afternoon and evening. Always asking for my husband, by his name, not even his last name!!!!  It's really annoying. I don't know how to get rid of them, Most of the time I don't answer the phone... but really? At 9pm???

If the call is a number you don't recognize don't pick it up.  That's a simple rule.  It can only lead to regret.  If it's Police Athletic League or something like that asking for donations then why to they have to disguise the call as Local Area Call.  The area code in my case was from out of town even though it said this.  As I don't need government in my life and that includes police I wouldn't give them anything anyway.  I have been the victim of many crimes and they are absolutely no help.  I can solve my own problems.
