calls me,asks for me and than hangs up

Got a call from this number. They asked for a particular name and I answered "Who's calling?". Then they hung up.

Caller ID says Del Ray Beach FL

Same situation.  Called; asked for me by name and when I said "how can I help you?", the caller hung up.

same thing happened to me

Has called twice, once on 5/26 and then today (6/1).  I did not answer either time, a 7 second blank message was left both times.

Boiler room telemarketer caller from South Florida to sell extended auto warranties etc.  Their MO is exactly the same as mentioned elsewhere on this page.

This number calls, says nothing, then goes to fax sound. Called FCC, https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action?form_type=1088D
filled out the complaint form. Suggest you do same. Hope this helps.

This number calls me daily at least 5 times a day!  They never leave a message so when the call now I pick up and hang up on them!  I am tired of their scams and I wish someone could do something about it!

Same here. The lady said they were with Direct auto warranty. They knew my truck and my home address so that spooks me. But she tried to sale me an extended warranty and had the nerve to ask for a check routing number or checking check card number. Once I heard that I hung up. Noone should EVER ask for your checking info!!

Direct Auto Warranty keeps calling and as everyone states when they ask for a certain person who is not available, they hang up. They have called many times in the past year and a half. Requested many times that I do not want to receive these calls and asked to be removed from their calling list.
They are not willing to comply!

Direct Auto Warranty called my today to follow up on all the spam snail mail they keep sending me and when I cut the woman off and told her I wasn't interested she hung up on me before I could tell her to take me off their calling list.

I got a call from this number too...  I usually never answer numbers that I don't know, so I let it go to VM.  When I checked, there was no message left, so I called them back.  the tone goes straight to a busy tone- no one answered.  very strange the way it happened.

Me too, I got several missed call from this number, when I call back, it sounds like FAX.  I finally got to talk to the person, they asked me about a car that I do not own, hangs up.  What is this, A skem, fraud??  I'm VERY WORRIED as I was a victim of ID theft couple years ago.

I actually got a text message from this company disguised as a friendly text using my name. "k, lol" with a hotlink to  something called gotothissitehere.com. I assume its a redirect.
quick note: last 4 digits were 7899. Area code and first 3 digits were the same.
