- TM replies to BOBBIEI just got a call from this number. he called 3 times in a row within a couple of minutes before leaving a voicemail. it was a man with a thick foreign accent that said he was with the State Bureau of Investigation and that my social security number (which he said on the voicemail) was black listed and that I needed to call back because I was in "very big trouble".

- on to them replies to TMIt is a scam - social security numbers do not get "blacklisted" These people are nothing more than low life thieves who have stolen peoples information and are using it to try to extort money. Report calls to www.ic3.gov. Put a fraud watch on all your accounts and then just ignore them. I did buy a loud whistle and now when they call I blow it in their ear - gets rid of them for a little while - then they call back from another number with another silly sounding name.
- Beware...oh and they say they are from the State Investigations Bureau. I'm sure the Attorney General of California's office would like to know she has scammers impersonating her attorneys and her office. I'm sure that's a criminal offense in that state...has to be....
- Freaked me out at first| 1 replyIt is so crazy that I found this website and that everyone in here has received the same call from this number as I have. It all started on 3-11-11 while I was at work they called me saying I owed a E-Payday Loan and I was way overdue on paying it back. He stated he was from the State Bureau of Investigation and all the things you all have mentioned in your post (social security blacklisted, credit reports will be investigated AND that termination papers will be sent to my employer). He couldn't provide me any documentation of this transaction but he disclosed ALL my personal information (knew whole social security number, mother's maden name, address and employer). I understand some of that is public information but some is not. He repeatedly kept calling me after hanging up several times on him. The calls stopped for a few days and then they started again with him calling from this same number. He eventually ended up calling my work office number which I figured he got off the internet due to my line of work. It is now on the level of harrassment and I have my local police involved. Trust if I find out who this really is....I SUEING THE S*** OUT OF THEM FOR HARASSMENT and trust and believe I WILL FIND THEM.

- JohnSame thing happened to me yesterday. They used the names Officer Mike Williams and William Jones but had couldn't speak english well at all. Same threats as above and they knew last 4 of my SSN and bank Routing number..very scary. When I asked for their website address and info to confirm they were legit he became defensive and said they don't have to give me any info since I am the one in trouble and that if I didn't pay them I would get a subpoena at my work within 48 hours. Hung up on them when they wouldn't confirm they are legit and googled their number. It was such a relief to see this site but still frustrating knowing that they have that personal identity info of mine. They actually called back my work number today and we will be blocking their number if they continue to call. They are hackers and scam artists! Can't believe this info and their number is posted but they somehow keep doing it from same number.

- robert replies to Stevethese guys call me saying i was in big trouble that owed money and if i didnot pay it i would lose my job and go to jail that have a thick accent clauming to be james parker ,mattwatson ,sr.att. jeff scott they have stolen my identity they are not from the dept of law and investigation i will inform my local police this is a scam.
- Linda CloudI just started getting phone calls back from these guys today they have called 3 times today acted like I was someone else and they said that they were calling bc their was a lawsuit that was going to be put against my name and ss#. In the first place no body is allowed to give out information to any one about why they are calling you. All they can do legally is leave a name and call back number.
That was first clue. Ok guys I am going to be posting this on my FB page for scammers. This is very scary indeed since I have had somebody hit my checking account and really messed things up in a big way!
My next step is to call them and let them know that I have forwarded their phone number to my attorney and he has advised me to document each time they call and what is said, as we are sending this information nation wide and that every DA in the country will be well aware of thier proceedings.- Caller: State Bureau of Investigations
- Linda Cloud replies to Freaked me out at firstI am with you!!! These scammers need to be stopped! They can go get real jobs!!
- 5622962864| 1 replyThis is a very active group of scammers, many of whom are calling from India (and probably other countries) and are in cahoots with a group of American pay day loan scammers. They attempt to extort money from consumers with a myriad of false and illegal threats, and alternately pose as debt collectors, federal and state law enforcement officers, lawyers and bankers. Their trademark is to use meaningless legalese gobblygook phrases like "We are downloading warrants against you" or "We are filing an affidavit against you." Another trademark phrase is to threaten the consumer with something like this ridiculous phrase: "If you don't pay then only God can help you." Typical of many financial scams of this variety, they usually demand payment via Western Union or MoneyGram or credit card. They use any number of phony names such as US National Bank, Federal Investigation Bureau, US Legal Investigation Bureau, Hopkins Law Office, United Legal Processing, Morgan Associates, United Pay Services, National Processing, White Collar Crime Unit and many more. These criminals also use many phone numbers from many area codes; they're probably using caller-id spoofing software and/or VoIP to disguise their real location. The main thing to remember is that anytime someone calls you demanding money to prevent your arrest, or demanding your lawyer's name so they can sue you, it is ALWAYS a scam. No debt collector (let alone criminals posing as debt collectors) has the authority to have anyone arrested for anything. (And it's illegal to them to threaten such a thing.) And since these foreign dirtbags routinely impersonate law enforcement, it's also important to remember that American law enforcement officers aren't in the business of debt collection. The bottom line is, these are criminals trying to steal your money.

Anyway, my husband argued with him for a good long while. He also started accusing my husband of fraud (wth?!?!) He told my husband that he had his name and social...etc. "Daniel" called here around 12 times in one day after being told to stop calling. This has scam written all over it!
- frustrated in MSI have been receiving phone calls from the same person -- male of foreign descent--for over a year. Phone number changes where they call from, but same voice and same message that he is with the State Bureau of Investigation and Law. I gave the phone number to my attorney and when he called, they would not speak with him. One day I was so frustrated with these phone calls that I called the number several times demanding a copy of the paperwork to support this debt I supposed owe and the guy finally cursed me. I told him it was not fun being harrassed.

- cm| 1 replyI am very mad at the fact that I received a call from this number making me believe that I was seriously going to jail.. I thought to myself what did I do wrong and I did nothing at all. The guy had called and left a message at first saying it was urgent and to call him back otherwise he wishes me good luck. I then called right back and the person was named Jack Williams..It did not make any sense for a person with an accent to have a name like that. He told me that I did online fraud with a cash advance website and that $5,000 was deposited to my bank and I did not pay it back. That right there was such a lie because I never received any money and plus my bank is a closed account. Anyways he said that they are filing a lawsuit and that 2 cops would show up at my door for 2 counts of online fraud. Believe it or not I was crying because I've never been to jail and did not know what to do if I were in there being without my kids. Thanks to my babies dad I now found this website that made me feel so much better. I would've never thought to look this number up. These people are not only scammers, but they mess with people lives in a way that becomes very serious.. It is no joke at all for someone to do this. All I can say is thank god I did not give them any money. If you get a phone call from this number do not answer at all.. They have now called me repeatedly after my sister and kids dad had called.. I hope these people get in trouble for their actions.
