- Carly Haggett| 7 repliesSpecial Agent Eric Williams from the DEA called me and told me I was being summons and that there was a warrant out for my arrest and I needed to cooperate with this investigation. He told me there was a man coming to my house as we spoke so he hoped I was dressed, to arrest me for smuggling drugs into the country. I told him I didn’t know what he was referring to, he said I did and that I was going to be arrested today and would be spending up to 7 yrs in jail. I told him I didn’t understand what he was talking about, and asked if he could give me more information regarding this. He said I would have it any min. because I was going to be taken into custody. He said I needed to cooperate with the authorities under this investigation, that he has all my information and voice recordings for ordering drugs on the internet. I told him I didn’t know what he was talking about and I was happy to cooperate but I needed to know where to go and what to do. He said they would let me know and that there were plenty of places in my area. I told him I would call him back and hung up. He called right back and said he didn’t appreciate me hanging up on him and I had 10 min. to return the call or they would proceed with my arrest. I limitedly called the FBI and then FCC, FTC, CPA, Police dep. and the DEA. Needless to say I was really scared and was ready to corporate with the FBI under this investigation I just wanted to make sure it was legitimate. They told me that I had nothing to worry about and that it was a scam.

- Not too bright replies to Carly Haggett| 4 repliesI too received a call from "Special Agent" Eric Williams both yesterday AM and this AM. Only I didn't pick up the phone either time. Government agencies do not call from unknown phone numbers. Legitimate agencies introduce themselves in the same way each time. First he said DEA and next time said Drug Enforcement Agency. Second call he failed to leave his area code for the return call. The guy is a moron , not too bright, with too much time on his hands. Record his calls in the future. Impersonating a federal agent is a felony.
- AnonymousMy husband called and said that he got a call from an Eric Williams, from the DEA and he too was going to be arrested, I was mortified, didnt know what to make of what my husband was telling me. This guy is an idiot and needs to be caught. I hope your reading this Eric Williams, people are on to your scam you dick!.

- megani got the same call. The call ended fairly quickly when he said he had a supenea for me to testify. First off a summons is delivered by a person, not over the phone, and since he said i was the being charged, i would have just be arrested, not just asked to appear, especailly since he said i was being charged with two felonies, right? I told him that this was a joke and I would wait for some paperwork if there were anything for me to worry about.

http://www.justice.gov/dea/pubs/states/newsrel/2010/denver111010.html - Pam| 1 replyI was contacted on Dec. 21, 2010, @8:15 a.m. by a Hispanic man identifying himself as Eric Williams, a DEA agent, badge #73901. He said he had recorded messages of me ordering drugs and COD of drugs being delivered to my home. He had my name, phone number and address. I do not know how he had access to this information. He told me that there was another officer on his way to my home to arrest me at that moment. He told me that if I agreed, he would make a phone call to the District Attorney in the Dominican Republic, where the warrant for my arrest had been issued and arrange for me to pay a fine of over $1000.00. If I did not agree, I would be arrested immediately, put in jail and extradited to the Dominican Republic where I would be imprisoned for 3 - 7 years for illegal drug trafficking. He placed me on hold, while he supposedly was calling his contact in the Dominican Republic. At that time, I used my cell phone to call my ex husband, who is an attorney. While I was on both phones, my ex husband googled the phone number from which I had been called and immediately found this web site. I hope this guy is caught quickly and is made to know the fear that he has caused for each of the people on this site and all the others who may have unwittingly paid him the $1000.00.
It is now 10:45 a.m. and no one has come to arrest me. I feel pretty safe saying this is a huge scam. I am just left wondering how this lunatic got access to my name, phone number and address. - Pam replies to anonymous| 1 replyThank you so much for this information. I have reported this incident to them. I SOOOO hope they catch this horrible person.
- lousy in la replies to PamI too got a call from this Eric Williams, the phone call stated that I would be arrested if he didn't put in a good word for me. I can't believe that the police cannot catch this jerk with their phone number. They wouldn't even take a report over the phone.
Thank God for Google!!! - KyleScam Call. Someone called me with almost word-for-word what Seth described. I knew it was fraud, and said so on the phone, because there was no way I ever smuggled drugs. I asked for a number and more information to follow up. The caller declined to continue the conversation but said I could expect DEA officers to arrive shortly. I immediately called the police department, thinking that with the actual phone number showing up they could find and prosecute this person for impersonating a law enforcement agency. The desk officer said these calls are running rampant, so much so that they don't even investigate them. He said the telephone number was probably a "go phone" purchased for the express purpose of looking legitimate, and that if I had cooperated, this "investigation" would have lead to me disclosing personal information that could then be used for identity theft, credit card fraud, etc. At this point, there was no real prosecutable crime committed, aside from ruining my morning. Be careful out there, everyone, and if you get a call from this number don't get upset. I wish I had better news.

- alfanso| 1 replySame thing happened to me on 12/27/10..........same guy Eric Williams, DEA. This is the second time in 2 years this has happened to tell you the truth, The first time he wanted 5K to get the charges dropped. No worries. He's a fraud.

- sam replies to alfansoThe guy is using a real agents name. More than likely he was someone who was busted by this agent in the past, kept the paperwork, was released from prison, and is now using the forms to scare people who have bought drugs from companies like US MEDS.com. He probably was employed by or has a friend with a customer list from one of these companies. If you call the DEA and receive a voice mail message of said agent, you will notice the voices are quite different.
- Mindy Jo replies to Carly HaggettI just got the same call..DEA Agent saying I had 2 Federal Arrest Warrants for Smuggling Drugs,..he said he was from Dom Republic, I asked him what, where, when...He said it has taken 5 years to get the Drug Sellers to give him my name..He started to become very inraged........I did not let him say to much more, I hung up.I decided to call back......it went to ans machine!
- Mindy joSame phone call from DEA Agent Eric.....from Dom Republic.....I will be arrested.... gave him no time to say all that some have reported here......I did go to link provided here to US DEA site about this scam...then I called Eric back and read a portio of this scam to him...told him he was an idiot, and to find another scam! lololol.

- hunterGot this same call today....he said he was Eric Williams and that I was going to be arrested any minute, but I could pay a fine and it would go away. He wanted 2600......I actually went to Western Union (I did buy from US Meds about 6 years ago but it was legit at the time) and the nice lady at Western Union told me it was a scam. His call ruined my day and has me stressed out to the point of sobbing! Thankfully the Western Union lady helped me avoid sending any money.
This is a crazy crazy world........I called the local PD and they did not file any report...I called the DEA and left a message incase I can help them track the guy down.
What a day! Complete B$!!!!- Caller: Eric Williams/DEA
- smartythis loser is just making his rounds. I hope he gets his @ss kicked...
- JenI got the same phone call today from "eric Williams" I was told that there was an arrest warrent out for me from some medication I purchases legally about 6 years ago. I was told that agents were on their way to arrest me, I would spend the night in prison and then exdritied to the DR for drug smuggling. I was told the "pharmacy owner was being sent to prison for 80-100 years and i could get up to 10 years myself" I told him I would cooperate but needed more info about him and the warrent. I asked when this deal took place ( he at first told me it was within the past 2 years which is IMPOSSABLE b/c I am on disability and can barely afford my rent let alone 200-300 for online meds) when I told him this his story changed to he only had the warrent number. I told him to look it up b/c he should have access to this information if he was really FDA/DEA. He gave me the run around and I finally told him I would see what I could do. I then looked up the FDA website and found the release about this scam, I did a reverse phone number search which lead me here. This guy seems to up and running Again.

- AnonymBig bad Eric Williams called me this morning and gave me the same crap that is stated from above. I guess I should feel lucky he only wanted $500.00. The only problem for him is that I am a Private Investigator and all my incoming and outgoing calls are recored for the benefit of my clients. I have access to a lot more information concerning a phone number than the average joe. I will tell you this much, he is in the northern L.A area.
Here is where it gets good though. I asked him if I could please call him back so I could make some arrangements for getting funds together. I called him back, left a message stating I was ready to pay my fine and get this "taken Care Of" and that I very relieved that he was helping me out. He called me back 20 minutes later and I gave him the phone # to my local DEA office in Atlanta, Ga. I explained to him it was my bank and gave him a persons name to ask for and that I have authorized for him to get a wire transfer in the amount of $500.00. I hung up and never heard a word back. I wonder if he called the #. I bet he got a either a load in his pants or was really pissed at me!- Caller: Eric Williams
