BEWARE OF THIS SCAM! I received a call from Kimberly Porter on Dec 21, 2011 saying that I was 24 months overdue on payment for a set of potholders that I supposedly ordered from her handicap company named DHWA Inc. back on Dec 7, 2009. She claimed to be with DHWA Internal Collections Dept and that she was doing me a favor by calling to tell me before my account was referred to outside collections. She said that the company had called me 3 times in 2010 but never reached me. When I asked why I never received a bill, if I had truly ordered this item - Ms. Porter said they never sent one.  I asked for her name, phone #, address, and amount.  She wouldn't give me an address and said the amount would be disclosed if I was making a payment. Well, I vehemently denied ever ordering AND receiving the potholders and demanded proof. She claimed to have a recording of me ordering the potholders and when I asked to hear it, she said it was with their lawyers. Further, she claimed to have proof of delivery from the Post Office.  When I said I never signed for anything, she said it was a delivery that didn't need a signature, but she could not provide that proof either because that too was with their lawyers.  She also said that once my account was refrred for collections I would have access to that information and would have to appear in court. I laughed and told Ms. Porter that this was a shakedown - a scam - and I was not going to pay for something I never ordered and never received. I told her to bring it on, said goodbye, and hung up.

On my answering machine, I received a call from Donna Garin (spelling?)  from Internal collections at DHWA.  She claimed I had to call their corporate number (562) 866-2177 within the week about an urgent matter concerning my account there.  I don't know what DHWA is and don't have any such account and I am not past due on any bills.

If this is a real collections agent, I'm sure I'll get another call.,  Seems like a scam at this point.

I recieved a call from this number.She said her name was Christian Macy.She said I ordered a candle for $49.00 but because of late fees it now was going to cost me $319.68.But if I took care of it by cedit card it would only cost me $189.81.I never recived the product so I knew it was a scam.

My mom received a call from this number stating she owed $49.00 for garbages purchased back in 2009 and now she owed $169.00 due to late charges.  The orig. msg stated a Kristine called.  When I called the number back, Lisa answered and said she was covering Lisa's accounts.  She said my mom was going to be turned over to collections for this bill.  I said this is not right and it's a scam.  She said she was going to turn her over to collections.  I said go ahead.  We will wait for the collection letter.

Parents received a call from Christine M. saying they ordered a bath set (which they didn't) on 12/7/09 and owed 27 months of late fees.  They called them 3 times stating that if they didn't pay they were going to be sued.  I called and talked to them and was given the same line.  I said I would pay if they showed me proof of the order or receipt of the delivery.  They didn't have either, imagine that.  I asked why in 3 years there have been no invoices or statements sent and was told there was  an invoice with the package.  Really?  What company wouldn't send reminder invoices/statements requesting their money, if in fact the order was really placed.  What a scam!!!  They were quite rude and hung up on me when I said without proof no payment!

I rec'd a call on my answering machine from a "Christina MacIntyre" saying the same message as listed above comments regarding a past due account and that "Internal Collections" is  handling my account. If I would be interested to discuss this past due account, I should call the number 562-866-2177 during pacific hours 8:00 - 6:00.

However, if I was really behind on some account, I should be expecting a formal letter to the same. Therefore, I think it to be a SCAM!!

I think the call i got was from Anna.  She was so happy that i wanted to talk to her about this. lol.  i knew what she was doing from the beginning.  I could "hear" her trying to reel in the fishing line.  Imagine how angry she got in the end when i told her, all she had to do was send me a copy of the original invoice and a copy of that delivery tracking report she was "reading" from and then we could talk.  (laughing right now) she got angry and told me she was NOT THE BILLING DEPARTMENT!  hahahaha and she would have to send this to court if I didn't pay and I would have to pay court costs, attorney fees etc....apparently, she doesn't understand how small claims court works.  Anyway, I told her all of that would be just fine and to please proceed....She told me "good luck in court!"  What is really sad, is enough people fall for this for them to keep on doing it.  There is a special place in hell for these people...... :'(
