- Serena| 3 repliesSo I called this number back and the number has been disconnected. Which means it's probably some BS scam company calling people and using a disconnected number as the caller ID. Regardless, it probably wouldn't hurt to answer next time and tell them to F off.
- sICKOFIT| 1 replyThese scammers need to die!!!! I say lets kill them!
Well until we get names and addresses, here is how i deal with them. I try to keep them on the line as long as possible. I tell them I have $4,500 in credit card debt. I give them a fake Visa number..it has to start with the number four. They may also ask for the last 4 digits of your social security...i just give them 4 random numbers. Sometimes they ask for the 800 number on the back. I give them the FBI hotline - 800-225-5324, or the suicide prevention hotline - 800-273-8255. They put me on hold for a bit and then come back mad or they just hang up. Since they are going to keep calling and harrasing me, I am just going to play a long and harass them back, and keep them from harassing someone else at least momentarily. I have had some on line for at least 15 minutes. lol It is kind of fun and is a stress reliever. - Big Al from Texas replies to sICKOFITI like your approach. I did contact the FCC about these calls and they say it is a multi-million dollar business and they have more money to spend dodging getting caught than the fed's have to been given to focus on catching them. Since they 'spoof' the Caller ID there's no real way to track them. For instance this call says it is from Iowa, but they probably are using VOIP from Nigeria. At any rate, your idea of letting them know (in a cute way) that you're on to them is good. I go a week at a time getting these calls every day. Then it will quite down a week or two and then start again.
- DantheScamKillerManI like to tell them everything they want to hear, until when the end get close then I tell them I need to call them back in ten seconds so I can give them my card number. But before this happens I need their actual phone number and the address and also THEIR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!! IF THEY DONT DO THE AFOREMENTION I THEN TELL THEM I AM A MEMBER OF THE IRS SECRET SCAMKILLER FORCE, AND WITHOUT A COMPLETE REVELATION OF ALL THEIR FELONIES THEY WILL BE EXECUTED WITHOUT A TRIAL IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS!!!!!!!
- Caller: scamschmucks
- Call type: Prank
- DonkeyDickI have downloaded the Arnold app on my phone and terrorize these [***] as long as possible. Also I like to tell the person that they sound hot and that I am whacking it to their voice. Used to get made but now I love them calling me as it is so fun to mess with them!
- FakeCallBasher| 1 replyI LOVE what DantheScamKillerMan did to these jerks! I am going to waste their time and scare them and swear at them and threaten their lives as well. They deserve every bad thing that could possibly be done to them.
- Caller: credit card spoof
- Call type: Prank
- evilpeekeyAnother card scammer! I've gotten plenty of calls from these guys and I refuse to answer my phone anymore unless it's a known friend or family member.
- Die Scammers replies to FakeCallBasherWelcome to the club. They like to ask if you are threatening them. The answer is Hell Fn yeah. You come after me, I will gladly answer.
- Pecos replies to Serena| 1 replyI have written my Congressman about this and have requested that he sponsor a bill that makes it a felony to knowingly spoof a caller-ID, punishable by 15 years in prison, for both the caller and the company owners. Everyone needs to do the same. If enough Congressmen hear from enough people something WILL be done. Heck, they can listen in on our phone calls, surely they can find these jerks.
- KatI rec'd a call from a "bill collector" in san antonio texas. Area code 210. I refused to give them my information as the bill in question was not mine. They immediately began calling from this number trying to get around my caller id. The name of the company was halsted financial.
- Kyle| 2 replies"Student Loans." I was so excited to talk to them about reducing my payments because I HAVE NO STUDENT LOANS. (So really, if they reduced my payments, they would be paying me, right? Because they're a totally legit business?) I really wanted to get the company name and report them instead of just harassing the minimum-wage people hired to work the phones, but the number rang about 15 times before I quit.
Remember: the people who work the phones at this kind of place don't do it because that's their passion. They do it because they have bills to pay. Please don't blow air-horns in their ears. They're trying to make a living. Calls like this are extremely frustrating but it's like screaming at the cashier in the grocery store because they were out of your favorite product- it's not their fault.- Caller: Student Loans
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Howard replies to KyleAre you telling that because they work for minimum wage so it is justified to scam honest and hard working people. They have to still money to pay their bill is OK. If they are honest and decent people they will live without this money because this is Robbing people"s money and bothering them by calling. Cashier at grocery store will not work there if their owners were not keeping sufficient inventory and he got yelled for that reason. Same applys here. May be in your view selling drugs is good because they are supplying to people who need it.
- biss2 replies to Serenayou answer and it tells them that they have an active number . and they will call for ever I know i answered some of them , now I just hit ignore on the phone
- Vengeance IsmynameThis is a Credit Card Services scam operation. I was successful in getting the caller to call me back from a different number and thanks to some sleuthing was able to learn who is behind this scam.

- carol replies to PecosI agree! They should not be able to have a fake caller Id. Thank you!
- carol replies to KyleI disagree. If they worked for a legitimate bill collecting company and we're trying collect a debt, then I would say is a legitimate job and don't blame them. If they are scammers, they are trying to trick your money and they are not doing a legitimate job.
- RebeccaUnwanted calls from "disconnected" numbers
