567-202-2998

My husband, most of his aunts, uncles, and cousins (none of which I talk to, because I barely know them), and I got a call from 567-202-2998 claiming to be the San Jacinto County Office of Investigations Financial Crimes division. She identified herself as Gretchn Liles (Miles?) and said if I didn't respond in 72 hours, I waive my right to an attorney and will be sought after for felony charges because of a bad check. I don't write checks hardly at all. I haven't lived in San Jacinto county in almost a year. I am in TX, why is an Ohio number calling? They knew all my personal information (including my maiden name). I called the SJ Sheriff this morning and they said it sounded fishy. I'm all for owning up if I did miss a check somewhere (doubtful) and taking care of business. HOWEVER, I received NO written correspondence. I've tried calling her back so that I can drill her with questions: Who do you work for? Mail me a written copy explaining my "debt." Why are you in OHIO trying to collect something from TEXAS? Why are you claiming to be with San Jacinto county when they have no clue who you are?
