How do u know its a scam?

Received a call form this number about a lawsuit from the IRS. Total scam

Same as reported above. IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call the number. Sounded like a scam to me so I didn't call back.

They just called my house at 11:43 pm. Scared me to death! Is that even legal? Was just a recording saying to call this number regarding a case file.

Do you think THEY care if it's legal, or not? They have no regards for laws, lists, much less time, day, or anything else. They run 24/7 365 and don't care who they wake up, cheat, or steal from. You turn off your answering machine, you hear nothing. Turn off the ringer, same results. See CW's post. 1143 PM is about 1143 AM in India.

Received a call from these scumbags at 12:45 in the morning, with the IRS scam.  These people need to be exterminated or, in the least, cleansed from the gene pool.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Just received this call at 3:45am claiming to be the IRS filing suit against me. SCAM!!!  Tried to call back to rip them a new one and just get this automated message to please hold (not describing where you were calling) and then get to listen to horrible music. Hung up after a few minutes being on hold. Will be reporting this after I try to get back to sleep!!!!!

This morning was the third time this week, for these scammers, AND at 3:50AM. (Last two calls were during "business" hours from 360-718-9951.) If I could reach through the phone, I'd choke the [***]. ...Strange new world, and no recourse to punish those cowards, if they are from outside of the country.

Aug 22, 2015 0550am received call from 5672440396 stating irs filed lawsuit against me and to return the call for further information.

Call received at 5AM. DO NOT CALL>  STOP NOW.

Got a call at 6 AM THIS MORNING from these scammers.  ID showed Norwalk Ohio.  At that time i thought of course this was bad news from someone and picked up the call thinking it was about my elderly mom.  This is the second call this week saying that the IRS is going to do legal action against me.  Can't these scammers be stopped somehow?  I reported it to the link the above poster posted about the IRS fraud.  Maybe if enough do that, they'll take action.

the IRS will never contact you by  phone

Recording stating they are the IRS.  IRS would never call you on the phone.  I called these folks back and they said I had 20 mins to provide them with a secured credit card.  I stated if I have that much time ill call my accountant first as soon as I mentioned that they said they are sending marshals to my house to arrest me and hung up.  SCAM SCAM SCAM
