Call from 570-831-1100 10:00 am on a Saturday. claimed to be with social security dept. call was not from a social security office. Plus it was SATURDAY... be aware.

JUST GOT ONE NOW. GOOGELED IT AND IT CAME UP SOCIAL SECURITY DEPT. I DONT KNOW.

i recieved a call from 1-570-831-1100...i didn't answer because i wasnt aware of the number...they didn't leave a message, but somthing told me to google it and see what was going on...im glad i did.

got it again!! was going to answere but was too late. again cant belive it..

Got a call from this # said they were SS office asking about someone requesting help on medicine cost.  The name was correct.  But I don't know if the person had requested help on his medicine cost, he is on SS (mental retardation). My wife has a small personal care home.

called saying he was with social security office, then started talking about  how "they" called me. then said i could leave my SS# with him and he could get back to me, after asking if i was applying for medicare coverage and other bs about me collecting people SS deposits for them...

I got a call from 831-1100 and missed picking up the phone. A few minutes later I saw it and called. It said it was the social security debt (?) office and to leave a message. I idiotically left my name and number assuming it was a gov't number indeed. I searched the number later through ssa.gov and nothing turned up. THen I came here. I've never had any dealings with SS in my life for any reason at all except to get a card when I was born and to pay my taxes.

Received a call saying he was with the Social Security office and that I had left a question blank on a form I filled out for my son, new my sons name he was supposedly reviewing this form. said to call him back at 800 775 7802, i haven't yet and don't intend to

Rec'd the call this a.m.. Did not recognize the number so did not pick. Googled it and found this site. Highly suspicious when they don't leave a message.

When I googled 1-570-831-1100 the third entry was this listing it as a ss office in PA. HOWEVER the website www.poconoservices.com/bus/company/US_Social_Security_Adm.htm - 17k -  DOES NOT HAVE A VALID SECURITY CLEARANCE and is not any type of official site. BEWARE!!!

I got a call and looked it up..I found the address on the SS website

CALLED 411 info and had them look it up and it comes up with this number 570 831-1100 and it is the the SS office at the address listed bleow.
The number is legitimate.......

This number called twice but left no message.  I called this am and he answered the phone Social Security -- said he was in Wilkes-Barre, PA.  They are apparently working on three programs (none of which I qualified for) but he said if it was really important someone would get back in touch with me.

received a call from this number no message. Never answer the phone if caller doesnt leave message or  know the caller. If it is a legitimate gov agency they can spring for postage and mail it.

They left a message saying they were from social security calling regarding my "earnings statement."  Left an 800 number to call back and said they be there until 12 midnight.  Yeah, right.......

Just got a call from these people. Last month I put in a 'Survivor Benefits' form on the Social Security web site. They did not ask for any further information except that I forgot to put in what type of Bank account his money was located in. Never asked for SSN number or anything that would cause concern to me as a parent. No Account information was given except to confirm if it was a checking or savings account and that was it.

The call is from Social Security in Wilkes Barre, Pa..They usually only call if there is a question about an application made recently for some type of service through them. Mine was in relation to my Medicare. No vital information was asked from me except to comfirm.

These people are con artists. Recieved a call from them 10 mins ago. They say there is an issue with my social security number and ask me to hold (automated). Then an India man answers says:

Indian Man, "Thank you for calling social security administration how can I help you"

Me, "I didn't call you, you called me."

Indian Man, "For your social security number can I have it?"

Me, "if you are ssa then you tell me my social"

Indian man hangs up.  ***click****

Legit, that blount. Just straight up asked me for it.

Here's the deal y'all:

They use a software to mask their real phone number. They use the ssa phone number to trick you. Don't fall for this bs. The SSA WILL NEVER ASK YOU FOR YOUR SOCIAL OVER THE PHONE LIKE THIS!!!! THE SSA WILL SEND YOU A LETTER IN THE MAIL. TRUST ME, THEY KNOW WHERE U WORK AND LIVE.

Yeah anyone who calls from this number is a scammer, don't answer and don't give info.

I received a call yesterday (10/05/19) on my landline phone. There was no caller ID and since I did not recognize the # I did not ick up. There was no message lrft. I do have a report and a confirmation # I can use to call the FTC about unwanted and scam calls. The FCC will gladly you you helpful information on such calls
